After yesterday’s confession of a few bad moves, it’s surprising to see that Mavs owner Mark Cuban is signing Desagana Diop to a three year deal, or so states his agent, Leon Rose.
While Cleveland fans are rejoicing to be rid of him, the Knicks apparently were after him, as well. We’re seriously distraught about seeing Lasagna Flop in Dallas. First, to reiterate, we never want anything bad to ever happen to Mark Cuban and this is frankly a bad signing, even at only $1.9M per. Secondly, we can only imagine how Larry Brown would’ve dealt with a center rotation of Jerome James and Diop, he of the ill-advised 15-foot jumpshot, generously time-efficient fouls, and a perpetually spaced-out look on his face. Diop in NY would only have brought on the inevitable LB-Isiah meltdown that much sooner. We all know it’ll happen by December or so, but to get it in training camp would’ve been a real neat way to start off the season.
