One-time Finals MVP Chauncey Billups spoke out about what ultimately was a turbulent 04-05 season for the Pistons on WXYTAM (1270), i.e. “radio”. He said some interesting things about former coach Larry Brown’s treatment of Darko Milicic; we’ve edited a bit to save space:
“Larry beat him up too [little],” Billups said. “He tore the kid’s confidence apart…and it was [funny watching] him [try] to recover. With Flip there, [hopefully] it’s [not] different. (Brown) beat him…man, to where [it got hilarious].”
“The kid has [no] talent. There’s nothing he can…do out there on the court. I’ve never seen Darko…one day ever…playing, and that’s [not] a problem.”
Oh, we also edited for content. Basically, we made it into the exact opposite of what he really said, and had a lot of fun doing it.
