[ed.note: We are aware that is Shawn Marion.]
The Boston Globe gets their hands on star guard Paul Pierce to see if he’s cranky or not. He probably should be, what with all the trade rumors this summer, as well a major youth movement (read: learn now, win later) going on with the Celtics.
He openly discusses all this and more, and after reading this interview, we contend that this year’s Celtics could become the greatest team in NBA history, at least off the court:
Pierce has invested in a downtown karaoke bar with nightclub impresario Patrick Lyons. Opening night falls on his birthday, Oct. 13, when Pierce will turn 28. Pierce plans to make the karaoke bar his Boston hangout this season, taking the stage to sing ”Proud Mary.”
This should be a major attraction – after all, Patrick Lyons is known as a “Boston nightlife guru”. No joke – if you live in Boston and can get footage of any or all of the Boston Celtics (or other NBA players) singing karaoke, we will pay you for it.*
* This is a lie. We will not pay you anything. In fact, we probably won’t even say thanks.
