The 05-06 Warriors are #9

warriorslogo.jpgLike the Clippers, the Warriors are many people’s quiet pick to take a drop in the standings this year, possibly even falling out of the playoffs for the first time in years. It’s an obvious assumption, considering the disastrous performance after the team traded for All-Star guard Baron Davis late last year.

Angry and out of sorts after the Hornets moved him against his will, Davis brought nothing but distress to a team that traditionally is one of the most stable franchises in the NBA. He’ll team up once again with bland shooting guard Jason Richardson and likely continue to guide this once-proud franchise slightly awry. Mike Dunleavy, Jr. looks like a serial killer.

Derek Fisher, Adonal Foyle, and Troy Murphy bring All-Star caliber talent off the bench at a bargain price, and rookies Ike Diogu, Monta Ellis, and Chris Taft are already being called the next LeBron, Melo, and Wade, respectively. Although much has changed in Golden State and many are predicting different results, we say that tradition wins out. Nothing new here – the Warriors are headed to the playoffs.

Predicted record: 48-34

This is a sarcastic humor piece right?

I don’t sense any sarcasm in the Warriors preview. At all. Anywhere.
