Despite almost freezing to death due to a small area of his legs being left exposed, Kobe scored 39 points last night against the Suns. No word on if he’s out of the hospital yet. Over 435 heating pads were applied to the 3/4 inch area of blistered, frozen skin around his ankle.

The cold seemed to be biting at him all throughout the game, even causing him to lash out at several PHX players.

A Suns 31-30 first quarter set tones for the game that it would be an uptempo night to the Suns’ liking and that it would not be lacking for intensity. That was made clear late in the first quarter when Bell and Bryant got feisty as they tussled under the basket for a loose ball.

Bell was called for a foul as Bryant did a swim move to get away from Bell. In frustration, Bryant threw a high elbow into Bell’s mouth and shoved him away, prompting a technical foul.

That’s why players like Kobe are All-Stars. LeBron added the 3-point shot; Kobe added the swim move. Now he must learn to focus and harness his swim move correctly, and use it for good, not evil.

The Lakers lost 122-112, unfortunately. Damn LA weather. It’s like fucking Antarctica out here.
