Deadspin’s news that Dan Marino’s #13 is getting retired by the Miami Heat led us to the team’s homepage to learn more. Upon arriving, we weren’t surprised to find nothing on the topic, since a team that has an entire page devoted on how to use your game ticket probably isn’t loaded with the latest news we need to know.
As many of you know, tickets are no longer “torn” at the AmericanAirlines Arena. Instead, the barcode on the tickets is the important part because it allows you access when it is scanned at the doors. Please make sure that when you take your tickets out of the season ticket booklet that the entire ticket is removed – including the barcode as shown below.
If this is the way the Heat views the intelligence level of its fans, they’d better get that Marino info up right away. Otherwise, there’s likely to be some exploding heads when a football player is getting his number raised to the rafters of American Airlines Arena, right next to that other guy who never played for the team.
By the way, this isn’t like some little hidden thing on the page – it’s featured front and center on Heat.com.
