NBA BPR Poll 1 – 11.08.05

NBA-BPR-110805 small.gifThe first BPR of the NBA season is available for your viewing over at the Official BPR Blog. 18/21 Member Blogs participated and yes, the Commish had us do the comments on the thing. More info is over there – there are apparently many more features, bells, whistles (and work, ugh) to come.

Here’s our loose analysis of how it came out. Nobody was sure what to make of the Kings, Nuggets, Cavs, or Rockets, but everyone was positive that Atlanta and Toronto are awful. The Spurs came out on top as expected, with the Pistons a not-really-close second. Milwaukee was rewarded big for their strong start, while Miami wasn’t punished for their weak one. Thankfully, despite being 3-0, the Clippers didn’t break the top ten. (That’s the apocalypse, if you weren’t aware.)

You can see all of that for yourself, though. Here’s the good stuff. The lads over at The Get Buckets Brigade were eerie in their imitation of their loose cannon namesake – they put their poll in early, then kept asking to change it:

man, I hope it doesn’t skew things, my rankings were off…

I was doing an up to now ranking and didn’t really base it on the
strength of the team and record.

It wasn’t solely based on record, but my second predictions are
drastically different than the first.

There’s noway to overwrite them? sorry bout that.

We have to wonder what they were basing their rankings on if it wasn’t strength of the teams or records. What – uniform color? Regardless, it’s okay – just put your Bucket of Shame on your head for two weeks until the next BPR. Take solace – at least you’re not SacTownRoyalty, who lost their password and missed the poll altogether. (Actually, we think that was our fault, but if he reads his BPR agreement, he’ll see that not only do we refuse to take blame for anything, but he also owes us $17,000.)

Go check out the rankings and discuss away!
