The Clippers need to be tested

by The Cavalier on November 28, 2005

We’ve had our eye on an interesting NBA blog called lowpost.net, and they are definitely worth checking out for their system of determining strength of schedule.

We can’t explain to you the hows or whys of their calculations, but if you’re interested, they spell it out with all kinds of “=”s, “+”s, and various other confusing designs and symbols. What we do comprehend? It turns out the Clippers’ strong start could have something to do with their schedule, and the Knicks bad start could…oh. Well, that’s gotta be discouraging.

Most Difficult Schedules (through games of 11/27/05) Rank Team Net Points/Game
1. Denver -1.90
2. Houston -1.37
3. Dallas -1.31
4. San Antonio -1.16
5. Milwaukee -1.12

Easiest Schedules (through games of 11/27/05) Rank Team Net Points/Game
30. New York 1.49
29. Golden State 1.35
28. New Jersey 1.33
27. Portland 1.33
26. LA Clippers 1.30

We’re not totally banking on this being accurate or anything, but the guys at lowpost sound really smart, which is usually enough to get us to sign on. We did fail out of college twice in the same quarter, after all. We never really figured out how that worked, so don’t ask.
