Kobe threw up his fourth straight 30+ point game as the Lakers beat up on the Hawks last night. We know we just went over the team a little yesterday, but ESPN’s John Hollinger has a more specific look at just how bad this group is, including how much like a toilet Marvin Williams’ career looks like so far. Don’t forget, this is a guy who couldn’t start on his college team.
More interesting to us is that Atlanta’s arena, apparently sentient, joined in on the poor showing.
On a night the Philips Arena game clock and shot clock rarely worked, the public address announcer had to call out the scores. Coach Phil Jackson and the Lakers laughed after the game about the often-comical attempts by Hawks’ management to keep the game moving.
Some Los Angeles players joked the announcer kept an exaggerated slow count of the shot clock when the Hawks had the ball but raced through the count when the Lakers were on offense.
Phil Jackson made some jokes about the team, and everyone went home happy, as long as they weren’t from Atlanta. Also, since we can’t let a game go by without mentioning them, it looks like Kobe had a run in his tights last night.
