Our personal hero Mark Cuban has been told “no thanks” in his attempt to purchase the Pittsburgh Pirates. Despite sucking for like the last 20 years or something, the startling 180 the Mavs made since Mark took over, AND Cuban being a hometown guy, the current ownership group wants to stay aboard.
In an e-mail response to The Associated Press, Cuban said Monday he looked into buying the team recently, but “they told me they have no interest in selling.”
This is reason #243 we’re glad we’re not from Pittsburgh. Knowing an energetic owner with lots of money to spend is being held at bay would be horrible. We guess Mavs fans can be happy Mark’s attention won’t be drawn away.
Oh, in case you’re wondering, the other 242 reasons we’re glad we’re not from Pittsburgh are all “because we don’t like it.”
