Los Angeles is drunk
Published by The Cavalier December 5th, 2005 in Cleveland Cavaliers, Game Recaps, LA Clippers
There’s a new (very entertaining) NBA blog on the scene called The Association, and they were on-hand for the Clippers’ home win over the Cavs Saturday night. If you aren’t aware, the day’s USC-UCLA game left 75% of Los Angeles drunk off their asses, which apparently made for an interesting evening at the Staples Center.
Cleveland guard Damon Jones spent the whole evening jawing with the crowd. It was all good natured stuff. At one point during a timeout, he tried to playfully flip a baskeball at a kid on her father’s lap. He ended up hitting the kid in the face. Jones was apologizing to the family throughout the game.
There were also incoherent insults involving Chicken McNuggets, an appearance by Sam Cassell’s native alien language, and a fight in the stands (with a picture). That there’s some good reportin’.
Special thanks to ABJ writer Brian Windhorst, who couldn’t be bothered to forge a press pass for us. What, just because you have like a real job, credibility, and respect from your peers, you can’t break the law and risk your career for someone you only know through the internet? Geez.
