Robert Swift is not on drugs

He’s also not suspected of it like the Sonics’ Reggie Evans. During halftime of last night’s loss to the Knicks, Reggie had to take a drug test, which meant that Magic Bob Weiss had to start the Swiftness, the sun-sensitive and very young 2nd year center.
Debate all you like about whether the drug test was administered at an inappropriate time (it was), what’s really standing out is how openly the rest of the team didn’t want young Robert in the game.
“I don’t know if you guys know, but Reggie was back there taking a drug test,” Allen said, “Which I think is ridiculous. It’s not his fault, but he said the guy wouldn’t let him out. He had to take a drug test for the NBA. It’s ridiculous because Swift starts and you know how we started in the first half, we didn’t have that same chemistry going into the third quarter.
Said Evans: “I felt like it (threw us off). I felt like I kind of messed my team chemistry up because coach had to put Swift in there.”
The journalist takes a couple shots at the kid, too. Could it have been that bad? The guy averages 0.0 points and 2 boards. That’s much better than 0 points and 0 rebounds.
In other “hey, let’s make someone on the team feel bad” news, Phil Jackson called Kwame Brown a sissy. Or not, if you’re filtering the quote through the LA Times.
