Reef expresses his concernsSacTown Royalty reported it last night, and it turns out they aren’t crazy and insane – Shareef Abdur-Raheem has broken his jaw.
Coach Rick Adelman said Abdur-Rahim could return in a matter of weeks, but only if he is able to have his jaw wired shut to repair the fracture. A more extensive procedure involving plate insertion would require much more recovery time.
“If they can wire it shut and he’s comfortable with it and he tries to play, then maybe (he’ll be back) in a few weeks,” Adelman said.
We don’t know how Reef must feel right now, but we actually know exactly how Zach Randolph is doing at the moment – we broke a really good friend’s jaw with a basketball elbow in high school.
Hey Mike – if you’re reading, we’re finally ready to say we’re sorry. We’re sorry we broke your jaw, we’re sorry you had to eat through a straw for 6 weeks, we’re sorry we took your playing time while you were out, and we’re sorry we made out with your girlfriend during the injury.
We’re also sorry we never told you about that last part. Oh, and we’re sorry we laughed when it happened and didn’t believe you were really hurt. Also, we’re sorry we told everyone you broke it by smashing your face into a wall because you were self-loathing. None of that had to be easy for you.
Just one more thing – we slept with your little sister once at a party. Sorry about that.
