Pacers president Donnie Walsh came out and said they’ll try to trade Ron today. Not like, trade him today – he only said it today. Now, we’re sure they will trade him today if they can, but in no way was he that specific. Anyway, Donnie’s talking and Jermaine O’Neal is not.
“This is kind of the last straw of a lot of issues,” Walsh said, “and it’s at the point where we should look for a trade.”
“I’m not going to answer any more questions about Ron Artest,” he said. “Ron doesn’t want to be here, so Ron doesn’t matter anymore.”
“This is about us winning two straight games,” O’Neal said. “You guys got any questions about us winning two straight games? You got any questions about us having the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, even though we’ve struggled?”
This is the worst position a team can be in. It’s like when you hide your hand in poker. Show your hand in poker, we mean. We don’t play cards, leave us alone. Whatever happens, this should liven things up on the Lakers and Knicks message boards. How many different combinations of Chris Mihm, Kwame Brown, Devean George, and a second rounder can Lakersground come up with?
One little off-topic point – is Jermaine O’Neal becoming the whiniest player in the NBA with regard to off-court issues? He’s always not-quite-annoyed about something.
