If you’ve been out and about on the internet lately, perhaps you’ve seen this website called “The Secret” that teases you with some grand secret all of the most powerful people in modern history have utilized. According to the teasers, on February 15th, 2006 somewhere on TV, the Secret will be revealed. Well, we’re blowing the lid off. Big surprise, the Secret is Chauncey Billups, and the Pistons won again.
The Pistons improved to an NBA-best 20-3 with their fifth straight win — and the same five starters they have had for nearly two years.
“I thought we had the ability to get off to a good start, but I didn’t think it would get this gaudy,” Detroit coach Flip Saunders said. “This league is about winning close games, and we’ve won some close games.
“That’s a credit to those guys because in close-game situations, they make plays.”
They make plays, make plays and make more plays. They make plays when they’re tired, they make plays when they’re hurt, they make plays with their eyes closed, at home and on the road. 20-3? Everyone hates you, just so you know. Y’know why? Because there’s nothing to hate. You’re all wonderful people and you play hard and you’re jabbing Larry Brown. Just tell us the Secret, take the Larry O’Brien, and go home to your perfect lives, all of you.
