As of today, PHX’s America West Arena will be called US Airways Arena. How boring – if we owned a team, we’d say see ya to the corporate sponsors and just name it whatever we wanted, preferably something to make TV announcers and newscasters’ jobs more difficult. Just imagine Marv Albert trying to say “Welcome to…” with some of these.
