December 2006 EXPLOSIONS
Published by The Cavalier January 1st, 2006 in EXPLOSIONSStill catching up from our entirety of December vacation from the site…
Okay, let’s touch on the stuff that really doesn’t warrant individual posts from the 12th month of 2006, which shall go down in the books as “That Month YAYsports! Took Off.”

The Suns went nuts and won 15 in a row, including a period where a game was actually snowed out (@DEN). They also played some crazy-ass 3OT thing with NJ that made one-time commenter Becky angry. When they finally lost, head coach Mike Italianguy referenced ducks.
The Memphis Grizzlies had a meeting with head coach Mike Fratello, and afterward Mike Fratello didn’t have a job.
It seems like a bunch of people in the blogosphere got really bent about ABC’s Pussycat Dolls preshow opener. We’re not sure why - the lead one is hot enough to make up for how much the rest of them look like dudes. If it had to do with the music…well, we’re a sucker for mainstream pop music, so we really can’t say much.
Speaking of mainstream pop music and the people who make it, if somehow you missed Justin Timberlake’s song from Saturday Night Live, go watch this now. We don’t throw around phrases like “oh gosh, oh wowsers, that was awesome” much, but we considered it here.
NBA Fanhouse got off to a nice start over on AOL, with a bunch of A-List NBA bloggers participating in some kind of “groupblog”. We think that’s like a think tank - when not blogging they’re off solving the problems the rest of the world simply can’t.
Ron Artest may or may not be on the block, and he may or may not have been going to the Clippers for Corey Maggette. Of course, the latest says this is all but dead, which may or may not be true.
David Aldridge did his top 10 NBA stories of 2006 over here at this link. We like David Aldridge and we like lists, so there it is.
Celticsblog joined us in this whole redesign/relaunch scam, and despite their team affiliation, we remain a big fan of the site.
There’s still time to get WSM? out before the long-awaited RajaBell DOT COM launches - the countdown hit zippo again and the site went crazy, which indicated a reset countdown to 35 days is imminent.
It’d be naive to think that’s all that happened in December, but there’s a big old Cavaliers post to come and we can’t remember anything else at the moment. If there’s something you’re dying to know our thoughts on, let us know and we’ll try our best.
