Remember the world’s girl?Apparently Knicks GM Isiah Thomas was on the radio talking trash about ESPN columnist Bill Simmons yesterday. He’s bitter that he gets a bad wrap about all of the bad things he does. That’d be pretty much everything that doesn’t involve actually playing basketball or the draft. (We’re only talking actual drafting, not management of draft picks, which Isiah has only heard of in concept.)
Bill feels he’s totally justified to say whatever he wants, which of course he is. It’s his job to comment on these things that Isiah does…these – what do you call them – “business things”. Anyway, he invites Isiah to invite him to NY so that they can have a sit-down and discuss. Then he says this.
You’re a public figure. When you screw up, people are going to write about it. Get over yourself.
Interesting words coming form the mouth/keyboard of The Sports Guy, who’s notoriously impervious to criticism. Not that you should read anything into that.
You can go vote on who would win the fight at Deadspin. For the record, we voted Zeke, because the guy is a professional athlete, and also because Bill Simmons is not a professional athlete. Unless Simmons gets to use a laser-chainsaw, there’s not much of a contest here.

Correction: Zeke was a professional athlete. Like, 16 years ago. Now he’s just a professional franchise-tarnisher. But he’d still win the fight.
Nah, it’s like the presidency – you get to keep the title.
Oliver Miller, professional athlete doesn’t sound right.
Wait… I’m confused. Can you debate who will win a fight when one of the guys admits that he wouldn’t win?
“Or, I can fly to New York and we can have a dignified conversation about this stuff. Followed by you beating the living hell out of me.“
