A peek at a possible futureWith the Celtics in a state of “losing a lot”, there’s plenty of specualtion that the team is about to get overhauled. Even Paul Pierce is saying he might be better off elsewhere. It would depend on who’s trading for the player obviously, but we’re going to come out and state for the record that Ricky Davis is a far more tradable commodity.
The question is which teams would be looking to acquire a Pierce or Davis? It’d be Indy, or maybe the Lakers, or Denver. Teams that need a powerful addition to get to the next level. Do you really want to put Pierce next to Kobe or Carmelo? It’d be great for us, but those teams would go into personality turmoil after about 3 games. The most logical option for them is Davis, who doesn’t need to be the alpha male on the team and isn’t prone to being moody and grumpy.
So, assuming this could come to pass, the most important thing is what happens to the GetBucketsBrigade? When one has centered their entire identity around one player, what happens if that player is traded away? Do you move to the new city? Stop blogging? Change the name to Get Strawberry Blond Squad?
