Mamba joins the celebrationWe’re not black, but we’re way into today’s MLK, Jr. celebration, as it means the NBA is playing a 12-game schedule, many of which are taking place during the day. While that means the Blind Date re-runs and Maury will have to live on without us, it doesn’t mean anything else, because we lost our train of thought. Here’s the full schedule.

Minnesota @ New York, 1:00 p.m.
NO/Okla. City @ Charlotte, 1:00 p.m.
Philadelphia @ Washington, 1:00 p.m.
Denver @ Chicago, 2:00 p.m.
Houston @ Atlanta, 2:00 p.m.
Boston @ Detroit, 3:30 p.m. (NBA TV)
Indiana @ New Jersey, 3:30 p.m.
Utah @ L.A. Clippers, 3:30 p.m.
Seattle @ Golden State, 4:00 p.m.
San Antonio @ Memphis, 8:00 p.m. (TNT)
Milwaukee @ Dallas, 8:30 p.m.
Miami @ L.A. Lakers, 10:30 p.m. (TNT)

We’ll be starting our feast with a light helping of NYK v MIN. A little into that, we’ll be doing the flip-flip over to DEN v CHI, and at 12:30 (we’re Pacific, remember), we’ll surely be switching over to UT v LAC to hear what they’re saying about Carlos Boozer tweaking his poor little hamstring again.

There’s more coverage of this holiday we could’ve sworn was in February over on NBA.com, where you can watch videos of Gilbert Arenas talking about it in a purple velvet sport jacket.

(If a picture of a tights-wearing snake isn’t inspiring enough for you, The Tar Heel has MLK Jr’s most historic moment for you.)
