Flip Murray might be Ricky Davis II

We were pretty happy about the Flip Murray to Cleveland deal, although we did wonder why the cost was only little Mike Wilks, who we think played for an eighth grade team down the street as recently as November.

Our wonderings where no longer defined as wonderings when a reader sent in this site called TradeFlipMurray.com.

How many times have you seen Flip dribble down the court and launch a shot with about 16 or 17 seconds left on the shot clock, not passing the ball once? How many times have you seen Flip put on a dribbling display, only to dribble the ball off his foot or leg or get the ball picked by the defender resulting in a turn over?

That’s pretty bad when fans go to the trouble to set up a whole site just for the purpose of getting a back-up guard traded, huh?

The way he plays sounds just like how Ricky Davis when he was with the Cavaliers. Lots of dribbling, lots of scoring, lots of boneheadedness. You love him but he drives you crazy. Still a low risk move for the Cavs until Hughes returns, we say.

The site is worth looking at – some of Flip’s friends from Philly found it and defend him in the comments sections with such strong points as “yeah and i hope flip end up fucking Ray [Allen] up cuz he is a BITCH this is probably his site he does ho shit like that.”

So does the site disband (?) now or do they still want him to be traded, continually?

I think you could start a legitimate trade_ _ site for every Cavs bench player except Varajeo and MAYBE Marshall.

I wouldn’t trade Sasha. He’s got too much potential – he’s what – only 21?

tradedamonjones.com would be the biggie

Me either. I was counting him as starter over Newble. I mean, right? Newble’s not going to get the starting job back is he?

It’s hard to dislike DJ when he’s hitting.

I can’t see a place for Newble in the rotation anymore. The only thing he brings is some defensive toughness, but it’s not like he’s Ron Artest or something.

When discussing Murray and his, er, ‘basketball intelligence,’ I’m forced to bite my tongue because I don’t want to hurt his feelings. Then again, he probably wouldn’t understand my criticism anyway. Flip is a terrific one-on-one offensive player, and if he can isolate a defender and drive he can score on almost anybody. But that’s the extent of his game. He cannot run the point. He cannot play defense. He cannot see the floor. He’s not a great shooter. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even know what a pick-and-roll is. And there’s a specific reason he went to a Division 1-AA college (hint:it had nothing to do with his talent).

I have it on good authority that Ray Allen does indeed do ho shit like that.

The cleveland franchise luck’d into BronBron.

They’ve been morons ever since. LH is WAY overpaid, in fact Ricky D was a better player but they moved him due to their coach, who also got the boot for being an idiot.

The Cavs will screw their way into losing Bron and they’ll try to build around a 34 year old Hughes and the ever retarded Damon Jones.

Yeah Ricky was so awesome they traded him for Wally.

You gotta admit, the site’s complaints are all valid. Except for a way-over-his-head 2003-04 (fueled by Ray Allen’s absence for 26 games) in which he was barely average and consumed nearly 25 possessions per 40 min, Flip’s been a very mediocre player. His Usage Rate is higher than Hughes’ this season, yet his True Shooting % is 46.3 — lower than noted marksmen DeSagana Diop, Jared Jeffries, and Milt Palacio. And he’s not huge on patience, either: almost 40% of his FGAs have come within the first 10 seconds of the shot clock! While he’s not stealing shots from anybody on the second unit, play him on the floor with Bron and Z at your own risk. Seems Danny Ferry should have asked himself first if the Cavs really needed another fringe-NBAer on their bench.

That has less to do with talent and more to do with Danny’s Mormon ideals

Have the Raptors passed the Celtics in the Atlantic yet?
