Larry and some guySo we took a good look over the All-Star starter rosters, and although we thought we saw Chauncey Billups listed somewhere, it turns out that said Allen Iversion. Mark Montieth of the Indianapolis Star offers up an alternative line-up, and then suggests the Pistons could beat a team of All-Stars all by themselves.
We disagree.
Yeah, it’s nice to talk about how good the Pistons are and how they’re fundamentally sound, and they never lose, and how miserable Larry Brown is, and how they’re going for 70, and how Larry Brown isn’t respected by his players.
“Coaches coach execution, they’re not supposed to coach effort,” Brown said. “I’ve never been in a situation where that has ever been an issue for me. I’ve always been places where I knew I could count on the effort. Again, this is as young a group as I’ve had in a long time.”
Plus, there’s Isiah Thomas’s misadventures both on and off the court. Clearly, the Knicks, at 14-30, are far more interesting than the Pistons. Could the Knicks beat the Pistons in an All-Star game? Could the Knicks and two All-Stars beat 4 Pistons, two of whom were allowed to have 8 fouls?
These scenarios could be debated all day. The point is – we haven’t done laundry in a month. A MONTH. There are clothes literally piled in the doorway to our bedroom. That’s bananas!
