3-D Shaq is coming soon to a theater near you

adam morrison.gifFirst leprechauns, and now more non-NBA specific news. This one sounds cool and we want to talk about it, so we’re going to. (Look, NBA action is light with the NCAA crap going on, okay?)

With ticket sales down all over the place, the plan for 2007 is to start showing sports in movie theaters. In 3D, no less.

“We want to transition our theaters from being traditional movie theaters to being community entertainment destinations, and what better way to do this than sports?” said Shari Redstone, president of the National Amusements Inc. theater chain.

“We are not just putting the game up on the big screen but making the experience like being in Fenway Park,” Redstone, a Red Sox fan, said. “The experience is more important, really, than what you are showing.”

This is true to some extent, although we can’t imagine a situation wherein we would voluntarily watch any Boston sports team, let alone pay for it.

However, considering we watch most Cavalier games alone in the dark, with only beer and rusty drug tools around us, we would really welcome the opportunity to pay 9 bucks to go be with some other fans.

That way we could get a seat by ourselves in the back, where we could not talk to anyone while we drink beer and do drugs with rusty drug tools.
