The Hornets have had a rough go of it as of late, losing 8 in a row and slipping out of their playoff spot. Then there was that whole thing where they sucked last year and the hurricane.
Let’s also not forget the ESPN the Magazine cover story on Chris Paul that turned out to just be a lame fashion photoshoot.
Las night was a little different however, as the team came out on top over the Clippers, in their last game of the season in New Orleans.
Afterward, superstar owner George Shinn talked about the potential for his little nomad squad to come back to the city for good.
“Can the city support us? I think it can. I know a lot of people have been displaced, but without saying the wrong thing, a lot of the people that have been displaced were not ticket holders and a lot of these people couldn’t afford tickets. The people that could … are either still here or they’re living in Metairie or somewhere close and that’s the reason we’re having sellout crowds.”
Um, George…you said the wrong thing.
When trying to negotiate the delicate waters of love and loyalty between your new city and your old city, calling out the residents of their old city who got flooded out of their homes probably isn’t a good idea.
What did you guys have down there – like 9,000 season ticket holders? You basically just said you’re cool with those 9K, and everyone else doesn’t matter. Just to repeat ourselves – um, George…you said the wrong thing.
Once more for emphasis. Um, George…you said the wrong thing. If you include the title, that’s four times we’ve said it. That’s how you make a point, people. FOUR times. Eat your Wheaties.

There’s a reason everyone in SC and NC was glad to see him leave Charlotte.
Frontpage needs a .

You missed that part where he said all the non-hornets fans need to be exterminated.
I thought that was a LITTLE harsh…just a little.
Where? This is frustrating the hell out of me – I can’t even see the front page, and I’ve made no changes to the template at all.
It looks like the jenwatch thing might be a little jacked up. But I don’t know a lot about page design.
Dude, you’ve got URL issues. Turn off the bold and underline.
