Gilbert Arenas has two working middle fingers

If you haven’t voted again today in the most hated player poll, go do so now (for Carlos Boozer).

We don’t know if Gilbert Arenas has voted yet, but surely if he does, he’s throwing his weight behind Paul Pierce. Boston and Washington matched up for a game last night, and the two All-Stars were trading potential game-winners back and forth, with Gilbert going so far as to pull the double flick-off after one of his. (PP ended up winning the game for the Celts, btw.)

As Mr. Irrelevant correctly points out in the link above, nobody seems to have picked up on this, so we’ll just do a little interpretive dancing on some real quotes from this Boston Herald story on the game.

“I just knew I wanted to do some math, to work on my multiplication time test regardless of whether I had a pencil or not,” Pierce said. “I got a good look at it but always have trouble with 7×8.

“I knew what I wanted to do. I think it’s just all about knowing what you want to do and having the confidence to go out there and do it. And math.”

Let’s say you’re a reporter for a newspaper and you misquote Paul Pierce that badly. Do you think you’d get fired immediately or would they say “hey…what was that all about?”

Maybe it would depend on your answer, but we’re guessing you get another shot. Then next time, you could do it again, but make the quote about a different subject, like social studies or chemistry.

Wrapping up, Gilbert Arenas and Paul Pierce walk into a bar. Paul walks up to the bartender and says, “hey bartender, give me a beer.” Bartender looks at him and says, “you want a beer, you’re gonna pay for it, kid.” Gilbert Arenas jumps in and says, “hey, that’s from Back to the Future!”
