LeBron James is not on myspace

lebron 02.jpgWe don’t think it really needs to be said, but obviously the various Lebron Jameseses on myspace aren’t him.

For example, here’s one that we’re friends with, who may or may not be the one that has LeBron’s official people all upset.

[The profile] has caught the attention of some of James’ representatives.

James’ only official site is lebronjames.com, which he actually secured during his junior year at St. Vincent-St. Mary. But that hasn’t stopped the myspace.com site operator or operators from teaming up with a Wadsworth-based company to sell T-shirts with myspace.com’s logo and James’ likeness on them without permission. Apparently the T-shirts have been a success, because at least one model is listed as being sold out.

We can’t be sure if our LeBron is this one – we’re actually friends with like three LeBrons, a Karl Malone, a Zack with peppy music, and of course the infamous sandwich.

The point is, if you’re not LeBron James, you can’t sell LeBron James t-shirts. You might be able to assume his identity and pretend to be him on myspace, but you simply can’t sell LeBron t-shirts. The reason for this is because of shipping costs – the whole endeavor becomes too much to manage.

Now, if you wanted to sell Allen Iverson t-shirts, that’s different, because he’s smaller. KG? Nope – too big. Dwyane Wade t-shirts – hmmm…could be just right. Tim Duncan? Has anybody ever wanted a Tim Duncan t-shirt? We though all anyone wanted was his delicious bread.

Did the person selling those shirts ever get sued?
