As long as Larry Brown doesn’t keel over, the rest of the Knicks’ season is gonna be hilarious.
Stephon Marbury is officially acting out, and New York has no choice but to play this out in all its glory. The trade deadline is gone, and there’s no way they’re shutting him down for the year at his salary.
“I went into this year trying to do something, to put myself in a situation where we can win, okay?” Marbury said on Saturday. “To help the team win games. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. So, what do I do now, as far as the way I play? I go back to playing like Stephon Marbury, aka Starbury. I haven’t been Starbury this year. I’ve been some other dude this year.”
Here’s something crazy – if the Knicks would actually just go out and play street ball, they’d probably win more games. By no means would they be good, but you unleash Starbury, then get Steve to make a “I’m going back to playing like Franchise” speech, and you’ve got the explosive backcourt Crazy Zeke imagined.
Bottom line – Larry Brown is the problem here, along with Isiah Thomas. Plus Eddy Curry, the Dolan ownership, sentient Madison Square Garden, Jamaal Crawford, and everyone. Aw hell – they’re all the problem, especially Starbury.
Who’s going to trade for this guy this summer? The only hope the Knicks have is that Isiah quits, takes the GM job somewhere else, and then pulls the trigger.
Basically, New York should just roll Channing Frye out there and let him go 1-on-5 every night. That’s what’s great about the Knicks – .

Charlie Frye? Don’t think Romeo will like that too much.
Maybe his cousin Channing would have a better chance.
I always do that – it goes the other wayn too.
