Stephon Marbury is looming large over Madison Square Garden tonight

marbury ny.gifIt’s not often that the biggest game on the schedule is between the teams with the two worst records in the NBA, but with all the stuff flying around Starbury and the Knicks, the Hawks’ visit to Madison Square Garden tonight has “absolute disaster” written on its face and other body parts.

This is especially true considering Larry Brown has now responded to his point guard’s Starbury comments.

“We’re [horrible].

“Now you want freedom? How are you gonna have freedom with those stats?”

On Saturday, Marbury said that because the Knicks weren’t winning many games, he planned to “go back to playing like Stephon Marbury, aka Starbury.”

“That means, ‘I ain’t thinking about all those things that really are relevant. I ain’t thinking about any of those things,’” Brown said yesterday.

That “horrible” was previously a really long paragraph wherein Larry explained how bad the Knicks are statistically in…everything. That’s not all LB said, however. He went on to bring up Allen Iverson, specifically pointing out that despite their off-court issues, AI came to play every night, without fail, implying that Stephon is a bitch.

The only question for tonight is who snaps first – Larry, Steph, or the crowd. We’re putting our money of Marbury going first, quickly followed by a mini-flareup of ‘boos’ in the crowd.

Larry pretends not to notice by showing Eddy Curry how to pivot correctly, then he’ll go over and say something about Marbury to one of his assistants, juuuust loud enough for Steph to hear. When Marbury goes back in the game, he’ll start launching halfcourt shots, then all hell breaks loose – RIOT.

Later on, as the Garden literally burns to the ground, somehow Isiah trades for Samuel Dalembert.
