Steve Francis is our dad

by The Cavalier on March 10, 2006 · 8 comments

steve francis knicks 1.jpgWe’re sitting here watching the Cavaliers play the Magic, and we couldn’t help but think how different Orlando is without Steve Francis.

That naturally led to this question – what if Steve Francis was our dad? Not like he adopted us or something – we’re talking like what if he was really our dad?

If Steve Francis were our dad, would he still be coming off the bench for the Knicks? Would NY still be talking about a two game win streak like it’s winning the World Series? Would he come home from work and say stuff like this?

“[Son,] It’s tough,” Francis said. “I started my whole career. But if that’s the role I have to play to make this team better you have to put your pride aside for the bigger picture. That’s the situation I’m in. [I love you, son.]“

Hopefully he’d cheer up a little so we didn’t get all upset when we should be excited to see dad come home.

Bigger issues – since he would’ve had to have us when he was like in single digits, what does that say about our mom, who’d be having sex with little kids? And would that be our real mom we have now, or would it be a different mom?

What about our real dad? Would we have even ever met him if Steve Francis was our dad? Would he have a different son – would the universe balance out by making one of Steve’s kid’s our real dad’s new kid?

What about when Uncle Cuttino comes to visit? Do we just go to our room for the weekend or go spend a couple days at grandma’s or what?

I blame your friends who went down there.

Don’t worry – after the game LeBron saud they just didn’t come out with the right mindset.

AGAIN.

Magic are shaping up nicely for the future, provided they don’t go anywhere near Billy King or Isiah Thomas

I didn’t want to say anything but Howard and Milicic are pretty good, young, seven feet tall, and can run. The Magic were losing a bunch, but not by much, with lots of injuries.

Alvarez is a great backup who could play with Nelson at times.

Other guys are good role players. They have cap room and a probably lottery pick. With Grant Hill healthy – and magical ruby slippers – they’re dangerous.

FP,

They want to go near Isiah and Billy King. Usually GMs that deal with them end up looking like Einstein afterwards. When making a trade with either of those two your team always ends up on top.
