I think he's kicking dirt out of frustration, making an excuse for playing one of the team's "easiest" stretches of the season and going 6-4. Trouble is, I think teams actually <i>are</i> in awe of them -- meaning Detroit has a target on its back and never catches a team sleepwalking like other teams do now and then.
