WHO SHOT MAMBA IPHONE

Who do you really dislike in the NBA? Does it happen to be Carlos Boozer?

paul pierce 6.gifWow. Between email and the comments, yesterday’s big “who’s the most hated” nominations really brought in a response and a half. (Numerically expressed as “A Response & 1/2″ or “Response.5″)

The esteemed author of a Hoopvibe piece about this very subject was cool enough to email it in to us, and then coolerer enough to go find it online so everyone could go read it. He put together a first and second team, in ways much more scientific and logical than what we did.

For example, his first team center didn’t even get nominated around here, but “Sasquatch” did. Go read the whole thing – it’s not labor intensive and may give you some logic to prep you for your voting.

Here’s the poll – PollHost can only handle 20 choices, and frankly we have better things to do than shop around for free online poll hosting. Consequently, we had to narrow the choices to current players. All the other nominees are way down there at the bottom of the post.

As far as results that count, this runs tomorrow (Wednesday) through midnight, and Thursday we’ll be on AOL Sportsbloggers Live to act like an ass. You can vote once per day, and you CAN vote for more than one person. If you happen to have a lot of hate, spread it around.

Who’s the most hated player in the NBA?
Mike Bibby

Carlos Boozer
Alonzo Mourning
Kobe Bryant
Keith Van Horn
Boris Diaw and other PHX Suns
Kwame Brown
Latrell Sprewell
Chris Webber

People left off the list who got nominated: Ray Allen, Chloe Sevigny, Ryan Bowen, Sasquatch, Gilbert Arenas, Larry Brown, Interpretive Dance, Old Navy, 1992 Blue Devils, 1996 Yankees, Danny Ainge, “Whoever picked 4 Detroit Pistons to be All-Stars”, Wes Unseld, Abe Pollin, 2000 Portland Trailblazers, Everyone from the 2006 Winter Olympics, Terrell Owens, YAYsports!, Dallas Cowboys, Ralph Sampson, Larry Brown, Derrick Coleman, Dallas sports fans, George Shinn, GW Bush, Bill Simmons and his effing intern, Luther Head, Carmelo Anthony, Mark Madson, Jim McIlvaine, Jon Koncak, Allen Iverson, Reggie Miller, Jamie Foxx, cereal, Robert Horry, Ben Hanglodsen, Shareef Abdur-Raheem, the whole Spurs team, Damon Jones, Isiah Thomas, Devean George, the FOX Funhouse, R2-D2, Rafer Alston, Calvin Booth, Vin Baker, South Park, Marquis Daniels, Antonio Davis, Adonal Foyle, Steve Francis, Damon Jones, my ass, Andrei Kirilenko, Natalie Portman, Lamond Murray, Drazen Petrovic, and Gary Payton.

Wouldn’t have thought Chloe Sevigny – whoever said that is retarded. Other than that, these are all totally logical.

what kind of a-hole nominates Drazen?

Kids don’t respect the game anymore.

2 Brian March 7, 2006 at 9:38 am

You should take off Ginobili and put in Damon “Sidekick” Jones….

3 Brian March 7, 2006 at 9:39 am

Is it too late to nominate Rick Fox as well?

4 Laurence Simon March 7, 2006 at 9:44 am

I’d nominate that Abdul-Rauf prick who refused to stand during the national anthem all those years ago.

5 fp March 7, 2006 at 10:27 am

I picked Zo, what a jackass.

6 Steve B. March 7, 2006 at 10:47 am

I’m writing in Stephon Marbury. Just like I wrote in Rik Smits for the 2004 presedential election.

7 fp March 7, 2006 at 10:48 am

Smits’ domestic platform would have ensured economic stagnation. The only clear choice for the election was Latrell Spreewell and his ‘feed the kids’ program.

8 zack March 7, 2006 at 11:28 am

sprewell isnt in the nba.. use your vote for a spur

9 Steve B. March 7, 2006 at 11:41 am

That may be so about Smits’ domestic platform, but I just couldn’t resist his boyish All-American charm. He’s like that kid who grew up next door to you then ended up being a 7-foot-4 freak and fringe star on a mid market NBA team.

Plus, I get the feeling that if I ran for president Rik Smits would vote for me.

But anyway, Smits and I are both writing in Stephon Marbury.

I Don’t Think Anybody In The NBA Is Truly Hated. It’s A Big LoveFest These Days. Shoot, Even Shaq And Kobe Are Getting Along Like The Bible Said They One Day Would. In The NFL, T.O. Would Get Half The Vote. In MLB, Barry Wins Hands Down. In The NBA, You’ll Have 50 People Voting For 50 Different Guys. Nobody’s Hated Anymore. HAVEN’T U SEEN THE NBA PROM PHOTOS? That’s Where The NBA’s At In 2006.

11 The Cavalier March 7, 2006 at 12:58 pm

Shit, I meant to have Marbury on there. Sorry everyone.

Spree got an exception because he thinks he’s in the NBA.

12 VC March 7, 2006 at 1:16 pm

Tim Thomas? How did he get separated from his long-standing team, the Suns? Don’t you see his jersey hanging from the Suns’ rafters one day? You know, he has played 3 games for them and put up Suns-like numbers, …. oh

13 the sockk March 7, 2006 at 2:06 pm

What’s the over under on the number of Celtics fans who vote for Paul Pierce out of habit?

14 JONESONTHENBA March 7, 2006 at 2:28 pm

After last night, I’m officially putting Van Exel and Finley on the list for being front runners and joining the Spurs. Like they needed any more help.

15 The Cavalier March 7, 2006 at 3:20 pm

The Sockk strikes gold!

16 VC March 7, 2006 at 3:57 pm

Just notice you did not save a spot for Jason Kidd. Mr.If I pretend to throw kisses to my wife from the free throw line, people will forget I used to, really, throw punches at her.

17 The Cavalier March 7, 2006 at 5:38 pm

Truth be told, I used to hate Drazen when he played. He burned the Cavs one year in playoffs repeatedly and he was so intensely excited every time he hit a shot.

18 Brett March 7, 2006 at 6:36 pm

First of all, any “most hated” poll MUST include Vlade Fucking Divac, even if he’s retired. I wish he was dead.

Second, can I cast all 20 of my votes for Tony Parker?

19 Aln March 8, 2006 at 11:53 am

Zo? Zo?!? How could anybody nominate Zo, much less vote for him. No Shaq, no Duncan, but Zo?? my head hurts.

20 JONESONTHENBA March 8, 2006 at 5:47 pm

ABC/ESPN for not purchasing the Roundball Magic Theme when they took over the NBA TV contract from NBC.

21 MattP March 9, 2006 at 8:33 am

I heard Zo flexed for 15 minutes upon hearing that Aln defended him in the comments section of YAYSports.

22 Elliot March 9, 2006 at 11:06 am

How is Ron Artest not even on the list?! Clearly, he must be the most hated player.

23 Rick March 13, 2006 at 2:12 pm

Tony Parker, Manu, and Bruce Bowen, all nominated on the most hated list. As a Spurs fan… I’m just so freakin’ pround right now…

24 sal March 21, 2006 at 10:43 pm

stop drinking kobe haterade
he’s the best, and your just jealous. He was voted for the NBA ALL STAR..HUH

25 sterlg March 22, 2006 at 4:54 pm

Any poll that doesn’t include Ron Artest is bogus anyway. He is my number’s one through five. What are you thinking.
