David Stern has had it with the Northwest

The turmoil in Seattle is just beginning, and it has nothing to do with their awful record this season. The team has arena issues, and after observing the situation for some time, David Stern is basically saying it may be a lost cause.

“It” in this case being professional basketball in Seattle.

“I would say that the city is making it pretty clear of what they want us to do, and we’ll accommodate them,” Stern said.

Asked what that meant, Stern responded: “What I mean is they’re not interested in having the NBA there. We understand that, we understand that there are competing issues, and the mayor is free to make whatever decisions he needs to make and I support that.”

That’s some classic David Stern right there – passive-aggressive and definitive. Just as with the Trailblazers’ situation, we can’t make any sense of what’s really happening with leases and all that stuff, so we’ll focus on the remedial issues.

Like why Sonics.com thinks Chris Wilcox is the story of the day, and makes no mention of any of this on the team’s official homepage. Isn’t this the time to go to the fanbase, and rally all 134 of them together in a battle to the death against the city?

Isn’t it time to have sit-ins and protests, and free Kraft Dinner nights? Do you call all macaroni and cheese Kraft Dinner like we do? If so, join our club. It’s a club where we all get together with a bunch of different brands of macaroni and cheese, hold up each box, and no matter what brand it is, even homemade or whatever, we all scream “KRAFT DINNER!”

It goes on for about three hours, then we all go home.

I think Seattle is holding out for two free toppings.

There is no macaroni and cheese but Kraft Dinner. Everything else is a pale, pale imitation.
