When not busy touting Dirk for MVP, figuring out a future myspace strategy for his daughter, and looking into buying the Pittsburgh Penguins, Mavs owner Mark Cuban is going to join the hordes of people who have their own satellite radio shows on Sirius.
“Mark Cuban is candid, animated and incredibly accomplished, having achieved extraordinary success at a young age in the worlds of business and sports,” Scott Greenstein, Sirius president for entertainment and sports, said in a statement Tuesday. “Radio Maverick will be a forum without limits, where he can talk to Sirius listeners about everything from the NBA to an MBA.”
We’re cool with the NBA talk obviously, but what the hell is an MBA? Is that another league we’re not familiar with? Perhaps some kind of league for smart people Avery Johnson, the NBA Coach of the Year?
If only Radio Maverick were up and running now, so we could mainline Mark’s thoughts on this and more. We’ll simply have to make do without, and imagine what he might say.
Probably something like, “Welcome to Raaaaadio Maverick, I’m your host Marrrrrk Cubey-Cube Cuban and it’s ca-raaazy ((SFX: TOOT-TOOT!!)) here in the studio!! Coming up, we’ve got some Maroon 5 for ya, and if that doesn’t getcha goin’, 15th caller’s got all their bills paid for the whole month of May! How many days are in May this year? Anyone know? ((Background: Hahahahahahaahahaahaa!!!! Oh man, you are wacky!)) We’ll be right back after we pay some bills!!!!”
If you can’t tell, we’re huge fans of morning radio. We also seem to have left our sense of humor and sharp wit somewhere on the East Coast.
