Stephon Marbury is in on Larry Brown’s seed laying

starbury.jpgWith Larry Brown trying his best to justify his upcoming resignation, Stephon Marbury is finally working with his coach instead of against him. Apparently step 2 in the seven point plan is for the players to cement their opinion that they can’t play for the man.

Yesterday’s trip to the hospital was a sure sign to Steph to begin his part of the operation, so he got to it by reiterating his intent to return to the me-first point guard persona that has brought nothing but losses and suffering to every team he’s played on.

If only these two could use their powers for good instead of evil.

Asked if that is what Brown wants to hear, Marbury fired back: “I don’t care what he wants to hear. I’m telling you what I’m going to do.”

“Like I said he came here, I’m willing and able, 100% committed to do whatever he wanted me to do,” Marbury added. “I did it. It didn’t work. So I’m going to play like I know how to play. I’m going to say it again. I played like Stephon Marbury this year. And next year I’m going to play like Starbury.”

And yet, Marbury called this year the best of his life and said to “stay tuned” for his farewell address next week, when he will elaborate further.

We can’t decide which disaster we’re looking forward to more this summe, the further destruction of the Knicks or Superman Returns.

That said, looking ahead to next year with Steph, we think his best strategy might be to go outside what he already knows and into new territory. We’ve seen Stephon Marbury and we’ve seen Starbury.

What we haven’t seen is Stamocklebuzzer. We have no idea what it is, but if the man’s looking for press and attention, we’re pretty sure everyone would wonder all summer long just what Stamocklebuzzer brings to the table. Oh, and he should get lollipops with his face on them and give them out to reporters at every press conference.

Those guys love food, and it would only make the mystery that much greater.
