WHO SHOT MAMBA IPHONE

Larry Brown is talkin’ about practice

by The Cavalier on May 22, 2006

marbury.pngStephon Marbury was at the Palace last night, and he was eagerly awaiting something, from the looks of this picture.

It may have been the game, but more likely it was today’s Knicks predraft workouts.

You see, Marbury arch-nemesis and rumored-to-be-fired head coach Larry Brown is planning to show up, setting up an epic battle of awkward conversation the likes of which we haven’t seen since…well, since New York’s season ended.

“I know everybody has a lot of questions. So do I. But I’m not the one with the answers,” Brown said yesterday. “I plan on going to work (today) and do what I love to do: work with young basketball players.”

What’s Larry’s cut-off for “young”? It’s a valid question, and in all likelyhood the answer is “whatever age Steph and Franchise are”.

Another valid question is what that monstrosity on Marbury’s wrist is.

We know it’s part of the pro baller’s style to get all decked out in things that let everyone know how rich you are, but at some point doesn’t the functional value of the watch have to overtake the size and brightness of it? Is there even a face on that watch or is it just a bracelet?

Whatever – we hope Steph enjoyed the game as much as we did. And we say that with all sincerity.
