Larry Hughes is at the Q

Biggest game in Cleveland Cavaliers history?
Probably.
While the ‘93 win over the Celtics in Game 7 was great, there was no way that team was ever going to win it all, that year or any year thereafter.
What’s happening now is different, and the game’s involvement in The Official LeBron James Saga makes it bigger than just Detroit and Cleveland as participating cities.
Whatever the case, Larry Hughes will on hand to see it in person.
[Cavs coach Mike] Brown said it was not clear if Hughes would dress for the game or just be on hand to support his teammates. Brown was certain he would not start Hughes.
“It wouldn’t be fair to put him in after missing a week of basketball,” Brown said. “We’ve made some changes in what we’re doing offensively and defensively. I don’t have any concerns about him dressing or not.”
we’re not sure where we stand on it. There’s a certain “don’t mess with what’s working” quality here, although that goes right along side the (possibly offensive for its exploitation) “put him in for a minute to put more emotion in the crowd” quality.
Now, those factors aside, Larry never really had found his groove since coing back from the finger injury, and if you really want brutal honesty, he was killing them on the offensive end. Add in the death of his brother, and we can’t see him being too helpful on the basketball end of things.
The bottom line?
Could be a huge evening for the franchise, the city, and any people looking to get laid. With the Indians playing right next door tonight, anyone wearing a LeBron jersey, whether they’re actually him or not, will be on the receiving end of a lot of drunk hugs when this goes down.
And it is going down, no matter how scared ESPN’s Chris Sheridan says everyone is.

IT’S SO ON.
Cavaliers 92 - Deeee-TROIT 84.
The crowd at the Q will be seething and hostile as hell. Every time the Cavs hit so much as a free throw the place will erupt. The Pistons have lacked focus throughout the series, I don’t see them gaining any in the midst of that mess.
BOOO-YAAAAHH.
“Could be a huge evening for the franchise, the city, and any people looking to get laid.”
So if the Cavs win, can i tell this girl (who likely doesn’t know who the cleveland cavaliers are) that i expect her to put out?
So, in all seriousity, can Brown just put Larry in there and tell him not to shoot no matter what. He’s certainly going to be better on the DEFensive end than, say, Flippy. He just needs to recognize where he’s needed.
Nels if it’s possible to do that without throwing him off, yeah, although he’s been a turnover machine in general in the playoffs.
Plus he hasn’t played in a week, so that’s not exactly good the timing. I say see how it’s going and play it by ear.
Brown said they’ve put in some defensive things he hasn’t been around for too.
Damn - Simmons done almost made me cry.
I’m kind of impressed with how Mike Brown has been doing in this series.
“And it is going down, no matter how scared ESPN’s Chris Sheridan says everyone is.”
Did you just say that out loud? You did? Great thanks.
My rewiring is not complete.
What I want: A lead, not a huge one, a cushion that swings between 6 and 11 points. A huge one invites a letdown and a comeback. Give me a cushion, make it last all game. Don’t make this any harder than it has to be basketball gods. You owe us that!
I just got off the phone with a friend who’s downtown. He said it’s absolute insanity everywhere.
Beer sales are apparently quite good.
That was actually the 92 Season that they beat the celtics. Because the Celtics lost in the first round to the Alonzo/LJ led Charlotte Hornets in 93 (McHale’s last season). And the Cavs were swept in the Second Round to MJ and the Bulls in 93. And you call yourself the Cavalier??? Ha!

I was at Chicago Stadium for Game 2. Cavs smoked ‘em. Press told Ehlo that Jordan “had the flu.” Craig responded, “Then he shoulda stayed home from school.”
Well, I guess they need to make it all dramatic and shit in a game 7.
Jerks.
Four offensive boards in 50 seconds?
What the fuck was LeBron doing at the end???
Welcome to Cleveland.
1- Grab a freaking rebound
2- Didin’t they still have a full timeout left? What was LeBron doing?

I’ve come to see LeBron as very overrated throughout the course of this series. For someone who’s supposed to be one of the league’s best passers, it’s ridiculous to keep seeing him make the same dumb mistakes… if I were on Cleveland, I would be tempted to demand a trade; another whole season of LeBron standing at the top of the key for 20 seconds then plowing into a double or triple team and turning it over while I’m sitting open in the corner would be too much… didn’t they get guys like Jones and Marshall on the team to get open from three and hit them? They’re doing that, so why doesn’t LeBron give someone else the damn ball?
anonymous couldn’t you even bother to make up a fake name?
As a Pistons fan, I have to admit how great Mike Brown’s coaching has been throughout the series. LeBron has been LeBron and you can see him developing - truly amazing. The strategy of having LeBron get his teammates involved in the first three quarters, then taking over in the fourth has caused my stomach to turn every game, including tonight.
You can’t discount the Pistons though. Something has been seriously awry with the Boys in Blue during this series. The chemistry of the Pistons is a big reason why they make plays and keep turnovers low. As a fan witnessing the unraveling of the Pistons during games 3-5, it’s been alarming. I was wondering, is something wrong? Are the guys pissed at Flip and his substitution scheme? What’s up?
Well, the fourth quarter proves that the Pistons still have Dee-troit basketball in their hearts. So, don’t sleep tight Cavs fans. You don’t want this sleeping giant to fully awake.
Still, the Pistons will need strong contributions from Dyess, Delk and Lindsey to win Game 7. We have the experience and the home-court advantage. The Cavs still have a lot of confidence and LeBron. It will be a good game.
YEAH I AGREE WIT ANONYMIIUYS TRADE LEBRON HE SUX
Yeah you suck Anon…
That ending was brutal. I still think you guys can win Game 7. Please do it, ok?
Watching the postgame - it was Brown’s call to get a quick score quick rather than call a timeout, so I guess it’s on him. Still a dumb move.
Anonymous: Don’t post dumb comments that make the rest of us Pistons’ fans look stupid.
It’s fine, so they gotta win Sunday. It’s for the best really- I bought all this beer & I can’t drink it all tonight. Mostly.
Ball didn’t bounce our way and we played the last play like a dumbass. (We had a timeout still…)
These last 4 games have all been tight - I’m sure Sunday will be too.
That said, Cavs were lucky Detroit missed so many free throws, too.
One thing I will say - I’ll be very happy when they bring in an offensive guru/assistant coach next year, because our offense is junk. I almost had a heart attack in the first when Drew cut down the lane without the ball - I think it was the first time all season.
That last minute was painful. But I have to credit the Pistons for playing great basketball.
Why are the sports gods so angry with us? A person like Rasheed Wallace gets top win? Why sports gods, why?
I don’t understand basketball, and even I knew The Cavs mismanaged that timeout at the end.
Still, Game VII’s are among the most exciting events sports has to offer. It’s a shame I’ll be downtown taking in my third viewing of “Poseidon” during the game.
I just got back from the game. I’m drained, I have nothing in me. Of all the ways to lose, offensive rebounding never made it onto the list.
cavs fans are crap fans. about a week ago you were all talkin about how bad the pistons were gonna blow you out, and then you win a game, and still no confidence in your team, then, two games, alittle, then 3 games and all of a sudden you become the best “we believe” fans ever. Pistons fans are better. Yessirr!!!!!
You detroit fans SuX!
Bron-Bron is going to lead our team to victorie on Sunday!!11
WHY???? BEcause the Cavs are the best team eva! Bron-Bron wil have a quadruple double, and you losers will be crying in you’re cups of Strohs and Vernors!
Hughes will be playing with the spirit of his dead brother besides him, like that movie with the guy from that show that was like the Cosby show, but I can’t remember the name of it right now.
ANYWAYS, everyone here knows that CLEVELAND ROCKS! Weve got the rock and ROLL hall of FAME, and a bunch of other cool stuff.
You LOOSERS are going down! DEal with it!
how do cavs fans feel about ole flip today?
well, we can’t let the cavalier off the hook without representing detroit after 37 cavs-boner posts. it was ugly. seriously LeBro gets the worst calls. -let me guess the game plan for the cavs sunday: lebron run as hard as you can to the net, shoulder down. it doesnt matter if you’re dribbling or not. jump high. crash into someone. miss the lay-up, let the announcers blow you. make the free throws. repeat. oh and i forgot, airball a few three pointers per game. everyone remember that when LeBron gets a high number, subtract 12 and thats the actual points he’s made before the guaranteed free throws. win or lose, i could care if i ever hear that name again. oh and also, nix any posters oe tees with the word ‘witness’ in it. it’s the least captivating marketing ploy possibly ever. for that matter, we in detroit can stop quoting mason, or making signs that say something to the effect of ’screw king james, we have the prince of the palace’
now that i’ve gone off on both teams, i shall rest my head. great site cav.
MAVS IN 7 BABYYYYYYY i am so confident.. terry will be back and the spurs will have no chance… congrats to the NBA for getting their precious game 7… mavs by 13
ColonelT, you’re fucking joking right??? Right???
LeBron has never, ever, EVER committed a foul in his life. Me, Mamma Lebron, could take the cavalier in one-on-one. it’d be like…. 11 points to 0. Once I clean the mase out of my eyes, I’d make the cavalier photoshop himself an extra 2 points onto our final score during one-on-one. Nobody wants to lose 11-0 to mamma Lebron.
Cavs woulda won….if they had Ricky Davis still…
