It sucks this picture came from the Justin Hughes funeral - if it was from elsewhere, there would be tons of cool things to do with it.
Also a shame is this other picture snapped in the parking lot - not that one must mourn continually or anything, but at least wait until you’re in the car to break face, ‘Bron!
Regardless, we’re kinda curious about the shirt/tie/shirt thing going on here, so we set out to find the answer. Luckily, that wasn’t hard, because our younger sister is an honest-to-god fashion designer. Here’s what she sent us after analyzing the picture.
This could be some kind of urban trend I’m not aware of. Or maybe he was cold and he didn’t have a coat so he threw that shirt on top of his shirt and tie. And the tie, yeah, I can’t explain that. But really, he’s Lebron James and he’s god so he can get away with anything. But I’m sure young kids all over the country are gonna be sporting this look to their proms now.
Well, that doesn’t really answer anything except that sis has a thing for LeBron, which we weren’t totally aware of.
So, uh…yeah. Someone let us know if and when we’re allowed to make all kinds of “mob coming to get the Pistons” jokes with all these pics. We’re ready and loaded and good to go, we just have a thing where we’re never aware of when something is inappropriate.
And just because we mentioned the kind of jokes we would make, doesn’t mean we made them. It’s more of a “here is what we’d do,” and then we don’t actually go through with it. Y’know, ’cause we have class and such.
We’re dressed just like Bron right now btw. ‘Cause we’re cold. That’s it? Great answer, fashion designer. Hey - we can’t imagine how you could be behind on urban trends when you design clothes for this.

I am very familiar with this shirt-tie-shirt look. It’s when you want to be respectful, but still cool and casual. It’s also been done with a collared sweater (yes, those exist) and can be done well.
But yea, Lebron can get away with it.
