TVBRIAN: If Flip Murray could have grabbed a rebound in game 6 you guys probably would be in the next round. But yeah, I’m sure Ferry will be a good GM, I am just raggin’ on him because it’s fun. He ruined your franchise as a player, so it’s just funny to me to think that he is the guy in charge of current BBall operations. It’s kind of like putting Olowakandi as the GM of the Clippers when he retires.

Danny Ferry brought Flip Murray into the fold when Larry Hughes went down. That move saved the whole season. Danny Ferry got Flip Murray for somebody named Mike Wilks and cash.

I agree with you TVBrain. I was a Rockets fan in the 80s, and it was a sure thing that the Twin Towers were going to rule the West for a few years, if not the NBA, after they dismantled the Lakers in 86 and lost a tough series to one of the best teams ever, the Celtics. Next year saw some drug charges against Mitchell Wiggins and Lewis Lloyd, Ralph Sampson was gone in a few years, and it took eight more years for Hakeem to get the ring.

Other seemingly sure things: How about Marino after the ’84 Super Bowl. Seemed certain he’d be back. Or even the Kings. Looked like they’d take over from the Lakers after 02, but Webber’s injury ended those hopes the next year.

So it seems likely it’s a matter of time – whether that’s five years or eight – but definitely not a guarantee.

Danny Ferry is your GM…enough said. How Ironic is it that he is the same guy that those old Cavs teams rested their hopes on. He was the last peice of the puzzle that never actually developed. Ron Harper for Ferry still haunts the Cavs to this day. Just like Ferry the GM will. And just so you know, Ferry didn’t make any of those deals this summer. The Cavs had pretty much come to terms with Hughes before Ferry was in the fold. So we have yet to see what he has in store. For the sake of the league, I hope that he has half a brain when it comes to this stuff. I want to see LeBron v. Wade in the conference Finals every year! And LeBron/Wade v. Kobe in the Finals every year. People want to see good basketball and the best players go against each other. At least I do.
