No words

No, this isn’t us in the little video – we just like the music, which is guaranteed to make us tear up a little every time. We really just need somewhere for you to leave some comments while we formulate a way to do this without alienating everyone from Detroit.

It ain’t over yet, but we’ll take a moment to enjoy it. Dude is fucking rewiring an entire city’s mindset.

Guys I moved your comments over here from the other thread. Hope you don’t mind.

I’m very very smiley right now btw. For the record.

2 jp May 17, 2006 at 10:09 pm

Um, Cavs won, 86-84. Are we in some kind of alternate reality?

3 scootran May 17, 2006 at 10:09 pm

Whoooo! Yes!

4 Christine May 17, 2006 at 10:10 pm

Keep talkin trash ‘Sheed.

5 Matt May 17, 2006 at 10:10 pm

Oh, wow. Lookie there- I was a couple layups off. I’ll do better next time. GuaranSheed.

6 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 10:13 pm

Whooosh!

7 Matt May 17, 2006 at 10:16 pm

The Cavs look like assassins. They are pro go all the way- finish in 6. Detroit looks beat already.

I mean, come on. Pussies.

8 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 10:23 pm

What’s encouraging is this was all about our defense. We only shot 38% and missed at least 4 or 5 layups.

9 Matt May 17, 2006 at 10:27 pm

Oh- that last LeBron assist with the hardcore Gooden finish? I wish I was listening to Reghi shout out the PBP.

“LeBron feeds to Gooden underneath AND DREW GOODEN GOES STRONG FOR THE DEUCE! CLEVELAND CAVALIERS- UP BY TWO!”

I guess you’d need to be there to feel that. But it would be awesome.

I said to you all that this team has karmic feel-good-sports Rudy-movie powers, but nobody believed me. Not me either- I’m not pointing fingers. I was just talking. But look what’s going on! LEGEND

10 Becky May 17, 2006 at 10:27 pm

that. was. awesome. the end of the game I mean. as for the video? eh. at least get a cape, dude. that being said…
WHOOSH.

11 Pete May 17, 2006 at 10:29 pm

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Wow, I can’t believe we WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

12 THE LETTER J May 17, 2006 at 10:32 pm

Can I get a WTF? 3-2 Cavs?

Enjoyed the video.

13 bballdood May 17, 2006 at 10:33 pm

Holy fukpants!

14 Matt May 17, 2006 at 10:34 pm

I have a fairly excellent sound system in my basement where I was watching this contest, and if I’m not mistaken, I believe I detected a few thousand cheers in my many surround speakers issued by the Deee-Troit Pistons faithful fans in the stands at the game when LeBron was wincing in pain on the floor after Ben Wallace mugged him (no CALL? WTF?) after his own second comical miss at the line there at the end.

Just sayin’.

15 LeRob May 17, 2006 at 10:36 pm

Game was sweet. I’m savoring every second of being able to root for LeBron. You know, before I get sick of how dominant he is and start rooting for anyone, ANYONE, to take him down.

16 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 10:39 pm

The Q will be insane on Friday.

Miracle II?

Anyone?

17 TVBrain May 17, 2006 at 10:42 pm

I heard it on Sirius, via the Pistons’ broadcast. That place went silent. Can’t wait to get home for the TIVO.
Is it okay to ask “what if?” yet? Seriously.

18 Matt May 17, 2006 at 10:44 pm

Dude- go check the turmoil over at DBB. The Faithful are already calling for Flip Saunder’s head.

Look- it’s not his fault that the only guy off his bench worth a damn in this series is McDyuss.

Or is it?

WHOOPS!

19 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 10:45 pm

I think it is, TVBRAINNNNNN.

I’m retarded right now.

20 Matt May 17, 2006 at 10:51 pm

Sorry to keep dropping comments, but this stuff keeps hitting me-

Z had a pretty good game tonight. Blocks alone- GOLD.

He would’ve gotten up for at least two more if he’d just shave that thirty pounds of beard he’s sportin’. Makes him all slow.

21 becky May 17, 2006 at 10:52 pm

did i miss mamba in studio? wha happen?

22 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 10:54 pm

Kobe was okay – it was a little awkward all around – I don’t think he likes Charles, and was clearly really embarrassed about the text message thing getting out.

Charles apologized for that. Nothing was really resolved. Kobe said he stuck to the gameplan. He wasn’t to warm or jokey.

23 becky May 17, 2006 at 10:58 pm

he’s probably so bitter that LBJ is still playing. not to mention that the lightning lemonade bubblicious is delicious. mamba ain’t got no gum.
sweet sweater vest.

24 Blurrz May 17, 2006 at 10:59 pm

Matt,

I heard cheers as well when LeBron went down, and I also can’t believe there was no foul called.

I think Kobe did a really good job. The Barkley piece was a little frigid, but his analysis was spot-on and he is a good speaker.

I’m going to the game on Friday. I wanted to go to games 3 and 4, but couldn’t make it work. But I got it this time, baby!

Should I wear my Witness t-shirt?

25 TVBrain May 17, 2006 at 11:07 pm

Thanks for the go ahead to ask “what ifs,” but I’m going to try not to get carried away.
33 years of Cleveland fandom has me thinking about…
1. The pressure being on us now.
2. A cold start to game 6 that takes the crowd out of the game.
3. The comeback needed to overcome that cold start that saps them of their energy and prevents them from closing the Pistons out.
These are the things I think about and it drives me mad. When you brought up Miracle 2, all I thought about was Jim Chones’ broken foot.
But right now I’m going to drive home, mix a drink and watch the game. Over and over again.
BECAUSE LEBRON CHANGES EVERYTHING!

26 Jane May 17, 2006 at 11:09 pm

Someone needs to tell Kobe that dressing like Mr Rogers doesn’t make him any more loveable. That sweater looked lilac on my tv upstairs and now I’m thinking blue, possibly?

I’m happy for you Brian. I’d love to see the Pistons get their asses busted. Almost as much as I’d love to see Dirk bust Le Parker in half over his knee. With Knight Rider as the soundtrack.

27 JONESONTHENBA May 17, 2006 at 11:15 pm

Did you see Varajawhatever accidentally punch Damon Jones when he was celebrating? That had to be the funniest momment of the night. For the sake of the League, I am rooting for DWade v. LeBron in the East Finals. Those two love going at each other…

28 JONESONTHENBA May 17, 2006 at 11:16 pm

Detroit fans: Flip is your head coach…enough said…

29 heatfan May 17, 2006 at 11:16 pm

about WhoshotMamba:

I tried donating $3 via paypal, but they dont contain my country (philippines)

anyway, hope the movie gets made.

30 Matt May 17, 2006 at 11:17 pm

TVBRAIN- we appreciate the reality check, but the pressure is in no way on the Cavs now. Coming home? Series lead? In a spot where nobody said they could get, including everyone on the opposing team?

The Pistons gotta play their asses off just to not look like overconfident, overhyped fools. That’s pressure.

The only guy on the floor who knows how to play beyond hype is on our team.

31 Proverbial May 17, 2006 at 11:20 pm

Did anyone catch the game tonight?

32 Todd Lerner May 17, 2006 at 11:20 pm

Hey, the LA Hallway Series woulda’ been sweet, but I’ll take 7 games of LeBron vs. Wade as a consolation prize! Hell yeah.

33 zack k May 17, 2006 at 11:27 pm

congrats cavlier…. heres hopin my mavs win also…

34 Dan Panorama May 17, 2006 at 11:31 pm

Good for you guys. I can’t believe how good the Cavs defense is, they looked better than the Pistons throughout the game. And the two-headed beast of Varejao and Ilgauskas made the Wallaces look just sad.

35 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 11:35 pm

Even I’ve thought that CHOSEN tattoo on his back is a little arrogant, but maybe it’s just to be taken as fact.

Every single expectation put on him he meets, then exceeds in a fashion that makes you say wtf??? I just don’t know what to think.

We still need to win Game 6, but even if we lose this series, you have to look at what’s coming and know Cleveland is in for some long-waited for karmic payback over the next 15 years.

I’m still just retarded right now. I don’t understand it. The plan was supposed to be learn this year, compete next, then overcome the next, then WIN. He just keeps skipping things.

The entire world will be making verbal love to the man over the next two days, and I’ll probably read every word.

36 Matt May 17, 2006 at 11:39 pm

Dan Panorama- that’s an excellent point. The Cavs big men are killing Detroit, and now that Z looks more like his normal non-Amish self, DANG. Rebounds, blocks, and FREE THROWS- I love Ben Wallace, seriously, but man, he just needed to hit like two shots from the line and this would’ve gone the other way.

Can you feel that, Cleveland? See it? Smell it? It’s SMUG! Embrace it!

37 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 11:39 pm

btw I think it’s interesting that just as Larry Brown is about to hit the market, his value is rising again. (See: Saunders, Flip.)

38 Blurrz May 17, 2006 at 11:40 pm

Me too. I don’t think I will sleep tonight.

39 Blurrz May 17, 2006 at 11:41 pm

(My last comment was in response to The Cavalier’s last comment.)

40 Blurrz May 17, 2006 at 11:42 pm

Son of a bitch! I meant second-to-last comment!

41 The Cavalier May 17, 2006 at 11:44 pm

I’ve gotten like nothing done since Game 3.

42 Pete May 18, 2006 at 12:00 am

As a Pistons fan I can honestly say this. We too are extremely sick of all this talking bullshit, esspecially when it comes completely devoid of any results. It was all cute and fun when Sheed’ trash talked and we went out and won. Now though, the excuses, the garuntees, the bitching at the refs, its like you want to go out there and tell them that just because they almost won 70 games this year that doesnt mean there is a fucking invitation to the finals waiting for them, and yes, the Cavs do deserve the time of day, they ARE a good team, speccialy with Bron’ acting like hes looking for his 8th straight ring (playoff rookies arent supposed to do this…kid is sick). If the Pistons win this series (which is getting slimmer in my mind each time I see another iso play) it will be because they get back to ball movement on offense (a switch on a pick-and-roll doesnt automaticly call for taking the big man off the dribble, that is STILL and iso play, and thats not what good teams run all night), single teaming on defense (give Bron 50 pts, just dont give Varejon 18 and Marshall 25), less than 5 TOs per game (we USED to be the best in the NBA..dont know where that went), and if the curse of Flip’s playoff record didn’t follow him to the D (maybe its just that he doesnt want to call a play and offend the “championship calibre” team that he was given when he came in… comeon man, coach a little). Its not good times for a Piston fan , its frustrating and maddening, and just, well no fun, the passion that has been here for 4-5 years suddenly seems to have been sucked away. If the Cavs win, I will be extremely dissapointed, but at the same time be very excited to watch what James can do against Miami. He might use his off hand to create space enough to drive opposing fans insane, but I cant possibly name a more exciting player to lead the NBA, and its batch of young stars, into the future. Win or loose at least its a good time to be a basketball fan, even if your favorite team is down in a series that was supposed to be over by now.

43 TVBrain May 18, 2006 at 12:45 am

By no means do I want to spread my pessimism, or give into it. I just don’t want to get too excited. That being said, if we win Game 6, I will jump out of my skin.
P.S. My wife stopped the TIVOing of the game. I’m about to go downstairs and find out how much of it I got.

44 zack k May 18, 2006 at 12:58 am

damnit

45 rogerl May 18, 2006 at 1:05 am

Please explain to me what just happened. My mind is fucking blown.

46 rogerl May 18, 2006 at 1:09 am

Yes there is rewiring going on. LeBron is that good. Take your expectations for him and the Cavs in his first playoff year and multiply that by 10!. My buddies and I were just blown away. “Dude, the Cavs just won game 5. WTF is going on?” Let’s do it in game 6, yo. The Q will be insane. I will acquaint myself with a scalper or two. AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

47 tiffany May 18, 2006 at 1:14 am

um, WTF sums it up nicely.

I will be watching on Friday in a dark dark room with plenty of kleenex.

48 The Big Picutre May 18, 2006 at 1:21 am

congrats Cavs fans! this is cool…now if only the GS Warriors could get a player who could turn it all around (perhaps someone better than Mike Dunleavy or Adonal Foyle).

49 rogerl May 18, 2006 at 1:21 am

Is it like a day off work tomorrow? I am way to f’ing wired right now.

I thought Kobe did good commenting, by the by, way better than BJ Armstrong. He’s like hooked on phonics or something. Terrible.

50 Flyer May 18, 2006 at 1:37 am

I’m starved, I am incorrgible, I need to scarf a big burger, what…
