Pistons vs Cavaliers and the NBA Playoffs

by The Cavalier on May 7, 2006 · 17 comments

Well, that was a fun 36 hours or so of celebratory celebrations. Our thoughts on this series are expressed in the attached letter. (click it to see it)

You can go scour the internet for the analytical junk. If you follow the NBA, you know what this is about – the Cavs make a lot of little mistakes on both ends and have periods of not moving the ball on offense.

That’ll get you 50 wins and a fun-ass series against Washington, because the Pistons’ biggest mistake is they get bored of being so good sometimes.

The popular opinions seem to be “LeBron is good for one” and “Hey, this is just like Michael Jordan and his Pistons“.

We’re sure Detroit is thrilled that they’re no longer on a title run, but are merely here to teach LeBron. Y’know, for the good of the world. If they were struggling for motivation, there it is.

Detroit Bad Boys doesn’t like Anderson Varejao; feels prediction of how long victory actually takes is irrelevent.

Need4Sheed succumbs to peer pressure, says Deeetroit Basketball in five.

Be kind, friends.

How come people pronounce Verajoa like Ve-ray-jon?

Cavalier that letter brought tears to my eyes. We still love you over at Need4Sheed even if we joke on your team.

by the way this isnt even close to MJ vs the pistons… we all know the pistons will take this series easily… a better comparision to mj and the pistons is mavs vs spurs…. the mavs have been on the brink for a while and this is the year they take that step… lebron hasnt been on the bring of an nba title…. lebron had an amazing season…. but hes done in 5…. mavs over pistons in 6

Zack I think the Pistons swept MJ the first time they met in the playoffs.

Doesn’t matter – I was only saying people are going to focus on it, not that it was neccessarily true.

The real point is you’ll get a Mavs-Spurs post, too. Remain calm, bud.

TO JOE DUMARS I HAVE BEEN A DETROIT PISTONS FAN A LONG TIME BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN A TEAM OF OUR PLAY LIKE THEY DID IN THE FIRST TWO GAME AND NOW PLAY LIKE THEY ARE IN THE PLAY-OFF FOR THE FIRST TIME. TELL OUR BOYS TO GET BACK TO THEIR GAME AND STOP CRYING AND GO TO WORK I BELIEVE IN THEM LET’S GO BOYS

I dont know if i am getting Joe to read this, but if so it will be great.
I am detroit fan from Israel (there are many more) and i would like to give some recomendation for the next year.
1. the detroit are short in rebound, although the have the wallace, its still not enough. They must aquire guards wich are monster on the boards (bonzi wels is one)
2. the back up gards or small forwards should have handling ball skils
3. i think that flip did not preform well in the postseason, but he should be given another chance, or as strange as it sound, trade him for lary brown.when you are facing a team like miami, you should change your game plan a bit. everybody know that Shaq is effeicient in the first quarter and if he is limited, miami gets into early problem. the way to do it is to put a big man that will keep him far from the basket (as elden campbel did)or send him to the line with hard foul. just dont let him get easy dunks. thats the key against miami.
Wade does not reqire a double team. let him throw from the outside and when he pentrates let the big guys block him.
If dumars is looking for players with the right price he can find them in Israel, playing in the best team (which realy you dont believe, but they can compete with any team in the NBA). They have several fits for detroit.
1. antoine parker – a multi talent guard, who can play 1,2,3 position, an extremley smart and athletic player and a great rebounder. as atrange as it sounds, he reminds of MJ (i am not joking)
2. will solomon – he is playing the PG, but basucally he is SG and he is a great defender and an un belivable penetrater. Sometimes he tends to keep the ball to much.
3. Power forward-center name as Jimi Arnold – Big body, great rebounder and soft touch and great moves to the basket. he also shoots the free throw much better than the wallaces.
I hope someone received these information.
