Raja Bell doesn’t want anyone to touch him

Just when he thinks he’s protected his precious face, PHXer Raja Bell goes and messes up one of his calves last night, likely putting himself out of Game 2.

As is his way, he made sure to sound stupid about it after the game.

“I thought a fan had thrown something at me and felt a pain,” he said. “I tried to get up and it wouldn’t let me get up.”

Yeah dude – a fan stood up and thought “hey, I’m going to throw something at Raja Bell’s leg.” Then when it hit you, it gave you a pulled muscle. That’s what always happens when you’re struck with something. We got punched in the chest once, and instead of a bruise, we came away with a (rock-solid) pectoral strain.

If you’re wondering why this deserves a post all its own, we really just wanted a reason to post that Boris Diaw picture. We also will never, ever, ever let Raja off the hook for whining about his face.

EVER.

Dude get over it. You’re still pissed about Phoenix OWNING the city of LA. I hope Raja is ok.

Raja is a “bitch.” I used parenthesis simply because I mean that in the best of ways.He thinks he’s an actual talent in the league, someone that would be missed if he were to leave. The guy just showed up about a year ago with Utah…he was a co-captain with Matt Harpring..c’mon..you’re a joke dude..play ball and SHUT UP!! You’re not good enough to talk!

But I’m not an LA fan, I just live here.

Lucas, Lucas, Lucas!!!Phoenix owns L.A.??? You guys have been in the league over thirty years. How about you win a ring…

Derek: You’re right about Bell. I actually liked Bell until this year. I don’t think he realizes that everyone that comes to Phoenix and plays with Nash in that system becomes good. But you don’t see anyone else on the team with his arrogance. Dude you’re Raja Bell. Know your role and shut your mouth. He should have been kicked out of the league for that clothesline. That was blatant bullshit. And he called Kobe arrogant.

And although, I still think he is the worst back to back MVP ever, Nash gained a lot of respect from me last night in the last 2 minutes of that game. He might not be the best player in the league, but he is definitely one of the best, and a true competitor.

“He should have been kicked out of the league for that clothesline.”

Hahahahahaha. Funniest thing I’ve read all day. Thanks.

“And he called Kobe arrogant.”

Yeah, how outlandish. Next thing you know someone’s going to call Ginobli a flopper.

Dude he’s right about Raja though – he’s Raja Bell.

Let’s throw him on Atlanta or even a heathy Houston and see how he does.

One game was fair for the clothesline.

I’m not sure I would like him so much if he wasn’t on the Suns, but I’m glad he is. That 3 in game 5 was as clutch as it gets.

Also, he seems to be a super nice guy off the court. I watched a video from Suns.com where they checked out his house. He’s very well spoken and seems pretty intelligent. I think he’s been married for like 10 years, which has to be pretty rare in the NBA.

Oh yeah, the reason he said he thought someone threw something was because it just popped and he wasn’t really in a position where he expected it. I don’t think he just thought that any pain he felt had to come from someone throwing something at him.

I’m sure he realized very quickly that it wasn’t from a fan…

Nick I hear whaqt you’re saying but taking things out of context is really all I know how to do.

10 tiffany May 25, 2006 at 1:17 pm

mmmmmm Raja.

11 Jane May 25, 2006 at 2:25 pm

I’m with Tiffany. Raja’s eye candy. Plus, he’s a vegetarian. How bad can he be?

12 zack k May 25, 2006 at 3:05 pm

raja is going to have to be eye candy on the bench at least until game 5…

13 The Cavalier May 25, 2006 at 3:23 pm

He can be eye candy all he wants, he still overly senstive about people touching his face during the course of a basketball game.

14 Jane May 25, 2006 at 3:31 pm

Come on Cav, you’re not putting 2 and 2 together. He’s overly sensitive about his face because he’s eye candy. I bet Sam I Am isn’t overly sensitive about his face.

15 Nick May 25, 2006 at 4:54 pm

If Cassell has any feeling in his face, he’s overly sensitive.

16 Jane May 25, 2006 at 5:03 pm

Nicely played, Nick.

17 LUCAS May 25, 2006 at 6:52 pm

Cav is just used to Lebron saying everything like he is reading a script. Does that dude even have a personality? Or is his personality written by a team of old white guys in Nike’s HQ.

Raja caught a few elbows and told the media how it was.

18 The Cavalier May 25, 2006 at 7:11 pm

I had half my face broken once and didn’t whine about it that much.

Raja’s on PTI right now – I’m few hours behind, I know. Tivo.

If he says “face” at any point I’ll laugh really hard.

19 LUCAS May 25, 2006 at 8:11 pm

When you broke your face did you have a bunch of reporters wanting a statement?

20 Jane May 25, 2006 at 8:54 pm

Raja’s face was flawless on PTI. However, I’m pretty sure he was sporting the same shirt he wore last night. Ewwwww.

21 Adrian May 26, 2006 at 1:50 pm

Please, please, please STOP talking about a mediocre player like Raja Bell.

22 james May 27, 2006 at 5:09 pm

raja didn’t say anything worth your post dude
what i’m seeing is that he’s playin’ good B-ball and he seems pretty clever
see ya and once again sorry for the LOS-ing ANGELES

23 too tot June 1, 2006 at 10:25 pm
