WHO SHOT MAMBA IPHONE

RIP Justin Hughes

by The Cavalier on May 12, 2006 · 11 comments

This’ll be EXPLOSIONS today.

If you haven’t read about Cavs shooting guard Larry Hughes’s younger brother, you can do so here. He had a heart defect he’d dealt with his whole life. RIP – best to Larry and his family.

Everything from here on is our usual tasteless and almost likable self.

We 100% agree with everything Brian Windhorst says about Cavs-Pistons, which renders us sadly irrelevent.

Manu Ginobli wants to be “more useful”. Insert your own joke [------HERE-------].

How LeBron got a first-team vote for the All-Defensive Team we have no idea – someone just looks at the steals leaders and goes 1-5 maybe?

Even more strange is having SIX players on the the First Team. Okay, so Kobe and Kidd tie for total votes – why not just give it to Kobe, since he had more first-team votes?

paris hilton.pngJones on the NBA loves Mark Price and nineteen other white players from the past 20 years. Read it it for the Rex Chapman siting, love it because it’s true.

Running one-hander – GOOD! Who’s from Cleveland and with us on that one?

Deadspin is currently showing Rick Sutcliffe drunk on TV. We know the name, but don’t really know who he played for or anything.

SBNation has been running an NBA commercial tourney. The finals are the awesome recent MJ ad vs something from Vince Carter. COME ON. That’s a commercial that made people cry against Vince Carter and an Onyx song. Why even hold the vote?

Paris Hilton doesn’t know what the name of her own video game is. (That’s for you, Jones!)

Question – it’s summer movie season – would anyone mind if we brought our old Ignorant Review feature over here from the abandoned Mary Hartz blog? We see almost everything in the summer, but we do enjoy reviewing things before we see them.

Just don’t want it to get stale as things slow with the NBA.

Brian, do you really have a boner for Jordan? I always assumed you had to be joking. Especially considering how ridiculous and self-serving that XXI ad is, I’d vote for Vince’s any dayof the week.

I really do love Jordan, yeah. Despite what he did to the Cavs over and over and over.

Best Joe Tait line: Whistle and WHAT? The irritation is sincere.

I haven’t read any of your movie reviews but it would be better then this place dieing after “Who shot Mamba?” is over.

I honestly, don’t think anyone can really hate the guy. I would tune into every Chicago game just to watch him play. Grew up watching Jordan and will always like watching him. As well as the countless other people that played around the same time as he did. Barkley, Ewing, Olajuwon to name a few.

I like the ignorant reviews.

Well it won’t die, it’s just I find the draft really boring. Free agency looks horrible this year – the trade market could be decent, but there’s only so much to write about.

Who Shot Mamba? will provide plenty of material. 12 episodes, and of course there will be ‘making of’ posts and fun stuff like that.

Bring the reviews on. That Narnia one is classic.

Are you going to do anything like “Helmet Cops?”

9 The Cavalier May 12, 2006 at 3:25 pm

Doubtful – did you like Helmet Cops?

Jason Kidd was on the All-Defensive Team? Good thing for him the voting was done before Anthony Johnson lit him up for 40 points!
