The Charlotte Bobcats are embarrassed

andrea stinson.pngA horribly overlooked event here in the heat of the NBA Playoffs is the beginning of the WNBA preseason, which apparently began sometime last week.

As always, the NBA forces creates an awesome synergy with its sister league, and this year the Charlotte Bobcats are the recipient of some true awesomeness. For a new franchise, it must be pretty exciting.

You see, being so new to the league, their home court is sadly barren of banners and other accolades. No longer – on May 20th, the legendary Andrea Stinson will have her number raised to the rafters.

“In her eight seasons with the team she exemplified in every aspect what it means to be a professional basketball player in the WNBA. Andrea was one of the best open-court players to ever play the game. … Off the court, she spent hours in the community reaching out to touch other’s lives.”

She was a three-time WNBA all-star, and averaged 13.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists.

We talk a lot about LeBron James’s achievements, but when you remember back to the Stinson Era and all she did for the WNBA and whatever the Charlotte WNBA team is called, you realize these new-style guys like Bron and Wade are all just Stinson wannabes.

Really, who’s the heir to Stinson’s throne? Is it Nancy? Trisha? Megan? Julie? Barb?

It’s amazing to think how proud all the Bobcats fans will be next season…looking up in awe at the solitary honor of their franchise’s home…the rafters filled with…that.

I have nothing against women sports, I watch women’s tennis, but does anyone really watch this? I’m just curious to know if anyone on here watches this.

Mavs all the way!

The Bobcats should retire Brevin Knight’s number in response.

Over/Under on how long the WNBA lasts? I haven’t ever seen a game, but since I live in Seattle everyone went crazy when the local team won some sort of tournament thingy.

So I’m at the bar, when these giant lesbians come in and everyone starts cheering. The one lesbian who was signing autographs was named something Bird. I think everyone wanted her autograph because she was related to Larry Bird.

These WNBA people are crazy.

Didn’t Bob Sura have a season where he averaged 13, 4.4, and 3?

Do they play like 20 minute games or something? Lamar Odom on a bad day can get into the hall of fame at that rate.
