The Mavs are big winners

That sure felt like an impending disaster last night, but the Mavs managed to hold off the Spurs in OT, and 98.4% of the country walked away happy.
We’re not sure what makes us feel better - that we get to watch more Mavs, or that this cuts down the number of times we have to hear the “never underestimate the heart of a champion” by at least half.
The phrase was kind of special when Rudy T said it like 11 years ago. Does it truly need to be dragged out every time the Spurs or Pistons score a basket?
Anyway, Mark Cuban is happy as hell, and offered some analysis after the game.
“When they took the lead, we took back the lead,” Cuban said.
Words upon which billions of dollars were made, right there.
The big question becomes “where do the Spurs go from here?” The big answer, of course, is “who cares?”
I think it’s way more than 98.4% of the country that’s happy about the Mavs winning.
Yeah…WHO CARES! And anyone that brings up that Spurs as a dynasty crap is a complete idiot. They’ve only one three title in an 8 year span and one of those didn’t count. The 99 Championship was a joke. Also they haven’t even won back to back. Since the late 80s every dominant team has at least won back to back titles. Hell, even the Rockets did it!

That’s great that winning 3 titles in 8 years, which may I remind you guys is as much as anyone else has one in the same 3 years, makes everyone hate on you. Seriously guys, back off the Spurs.
Just because they’ve charted the most boring path to championship success doesn’t make it any more real. It just makes us hate it more. Just to top it off, Duncan is a really nice guy. Why couldn’t they have someone with like Rasheed Wallace’s personality be their foundation? Then we’d LOVE to hate them.
Bruce Bowen and Manu are plenty reason to hate the Spurs alone. All the rest are just shitty icing on the cake.
Lisa: Two and a half championships (99 was half a season) in 7 years. The Lakers won three in five years and made the finals four out of those five years. They also beat those sorry ass Spurs twice during that run. Lastly, Duncan is the only member of the 99 team still on the team, so why are we even including this team in that. NO ONE OUTSIDE OF SA LIKES THE SPURS! NO ONE! I think Kobe Bryant might even have a higher Q score than the Spurs…
I don’t hate them I just don’t want to watch them at all.
Excuse me, I meant to say that the Lakers smacked the Spurs three times during their run, not two times. 4-0 in 01, 4-1 in 02, 4-2 in 04.
So, we’re guaranteed at least ONE interesting team in the finals this year. Thank God for that, if we’d ended up with Pistons-Spurs again I would have put a bullet through my head.

I’m not claiming the Spurs have been the most dominant team in the past 3 years because obviously it’s not true. But come on, give credit where it’s due. The Spurs were the ones that put an end to the Lakers’ run and they were the ones that beat Detroit in Game 7 last year. They’re still going to be around for awhile so deal with it. By the way, I like the Spurs and I don’t live outside of San Antonio.

Ok…I LOVE the Mavs…been with em since I could walk…and it’s been rough..to see them win like that was AWESOME!! but more awesome was to see the CRYBABY ass Spurs not get their foul call at the end of regulation..all that fake foul BS and outstretched arms with open mouths…ALL GONE!! I’, just ready for the fouls to be fouls..no mo actin MANU!
I think players that flop should be kicked out of the game. It really takes soooo much away from the game. Ginobili has replaced Vlade as the king of the flop.

Mavs fans are bandwagon fans. When they’re winning you love them, when they’re losing you hate them. Spurs fans bleed silver and black and stick with the team through thick and thin. Cant believe all the talk about how the spurs get all the calls in this series. The only way the Mavs can win is when precious Dirk Nowitzki gets 30 foul shots a game cuz he looks like a retarded overgrown schoolgirl shooting the ball behind his head and if anyone breathes on him worng they get whistled. “oh Hoff Sing to me vile i shoot free throw” thats why the spurs bitched so much cuz the majority of foul calls in Dirks favor were ghost fouls, anticiaption calls, and/or “make up” calls cuz Mark Cuban wont sit his whiny, 12-yr. old-in-a-man’s body ass down and shut up. Jason Terry makes me sick with all his talk about “well God will do whats best, and God will lead the way, and God this and God that and then he goes throwin a punch at Finley’s groin. you would never see a spurs player take a sucker punch at the bottom of a pile(against a former teammate to boot), you would never hear a spurs exec take a shot at the city of Dallas like Cuban did to San Antonio. One reason the Mavs will never be as good as the Spurs is their utter and complete lack of class, and respect for their opponents. The Mavs are going down in 07. They’re going to suffer from the 06 Pistons syndrome–use up all their energy posting 65 regular season wins and run out of steam in the playoffs. go spurs go.
