Some people will try to tell you that Ben Wallace’s block on Shaq – the one that sent the Big Shaq to the floor – was the stuff of legend, and maybe even a series changer.
We’re a level 14-A expert, and we can tell you pretty definitively it was actually a foul.
Not that it matters – the Pistons were intense last night, the Heat shot like negative 2% on free throws, and everything shifts back to Miami tomorrow for a fun and intense Game 6. Both teams are claiming the pressure is on the other side.
“We just came out aggressive like we talked about and played Pistons basketball,” Chauncey Billups said. “There’s pressure on them now, now that they are home.”
“Ain’t no pressure on us at all, we have a golden opportunity to win Game 6 on our home floor,” Miami’s Dwyane Wade said. “They’re the defending conference champions, there’s no pressure on us.”
The real pressure is actually on us.
We kinda got all angry after the game and declared we wouldn’t watch the Finals in the Pistons get there. Both from a logical, recreational, and business standpoint, that’s simply not posssible.
So yeah, if Detroit wins Friday and Sunday, we’ll suck it up and listen to blabber about “if it ain’t rough it ain’t right” and all the other poor justification that comes out of their mouths.
That said, we still like the Heat in six, which was our original prediction, anyway. Should be fun Friday, and we feel 5% 100% confident Shaq and Dwyane break through to the FInals.

great shot. hopefully that inspires d-town to resign ben to a 60 mil contract so those old assholes (sheed/ben) can fall off the map together….
I guarantee you the Heat will be on FIRE tomorrow night. They will show the Pistons that winning another game doesn’t put them over the top and into the finals somehow. They can only win games if ALL their players are doing decent for the night. They really don’t have a superstar that can carry the whole team if need be. The Heat have two stars that can carry the team plus their bench is a HELL of a lot better then the pistons is. Lets face it, I think the Suns might have a better bench then the Pistons do and they don’t even know what a bench is there for other then sitting down.
Well if I made no sense to you, or made myself look like a dumbass(yeah it happens), then you can tell I truely HATE the pisonts (yes I know it’s pistons but I think pisonts is funnier) and would love to see them choke yet again!
I hope everyone’s ready for the Mavs tonight because they are gonna be rockin! They had a bad night in game 4 but tonight Dirks gonna be electric.
Mavs all the way!
Has there ever been an “elite” team that was more boring to watch and less likeable than the Pistons?
It was just as much a foul as most of Shaq’s ‘moves’ to the basket are. But it was freaking sweet.
The Heat sound a lot like the Pistons when they loose.
Shaq gave Ben credit for a foul, but Riley’s post game came off with some class. Mourning, Payton, Walker continue to be the WCI (world class idiots) they’ve always been. Honestly, both teams have their flaws, Pistons haters, careful who you root for…
There will be a lot on the line on Game 6, both franchises legacies will be impacted. It’s really gonna be a game 7. If the Heat fail to close it out at Home like last year, I can’t imagine them winning again in Detroit. If the Pistons loose, the image from the last week becomes the legacy. If they win, they put a big shit mark on the Heat failing 2 times to close it out at home and add to the 500-2 record in close out games….
love the site, but f-you, Cav.
what’s with the undue hate of the Pistons? what’s up with calling that a foul, when 10 angles tell a different story?
next you’re going to say LeBron never travels.
Time to pimp my blog again….its gettin lonely over there http://spawnnsports.blogspot.com/2006/05/derek-jeter-likes-dwayne-wade-we-mean.html
Shaq getting owned by Ben was probably the highlight of the year.
He’s got 70lbs and more than a few inches on Ben and he got wtfpwnd
Don’t know why I’m taking the bait, but…

Maybe it’s me (and it very well could be), but the contact looks worse in the pic than it does in the video, where I think it’s clearly incidental. But even if you think the contact was something more than incidental, 1) c’mon, Shaq would have missed them both, and 2) the play was called consistent with how the rest of the previous three quarters were called.
LeBron travels all the time.
Common misconception is that I don’t like the Pistons because they beat the Cavs, and that’s not the case at all. I’ve been not liking them pretty much all season.
It’s a combo of their arrogance and the fact they have no stars in a league of stars. They bore the hell out of me. And I’ve never ever ever liked Rasheed Wallace – I don’t care if he did a total 180 when he got to Detroit – he’ll always be Mr. CTC to me.
it really never ceases to amaze me! the pistons wipped the floor with the lakers, a dynasty that won three straight and the team that had just beat the spurs, the other great team of the last ten years, and somehow they still didn’t deserve it. and what injuries? no key member of any team the pistons played in 2004 was injured. as a matter of fact, rasheed was suffering from planar whatever you call it, same thing tim duncan had this year, throughout the plaoffs. and i guess going back to the finals last year and taking the spurs to game 7 was also an anomally. i dont know…
I don’t like ‘em. It’s my opinion. Pistons are an anomoly – the NBA’s a superstar-driven league and they’re without any.
It’s kinda freedarko, but I like watching the superstars play.
its obvious you dont like them. and i really don’t have any problems with it. but i think you are not being objective when you say they didnt deserve anything they got.
and btw, what happened to that post where you said all that stuff about them not being deserving champions?
Yeah, defender’s bicep contancting shooter’s forearm/elbow, no way that’s a foul. These Pistons fans, it is to laugh.
They deserved their one championship, but watching them is about as entertaining as watching a game of horse. Plus Tayshaun looks like a cross between ET and Webster.
I edited it – I’m saving those for their eulogy. I still believe it, though.
And of course I’m not objective – I’m probably the most biased and unintelligent of all the NBA bloggers.
Why anyone listens to anything I say, I have no idea. Jesus – I Photoshop bowties and vaneers onto snakes and then ask people for money so they can see it in live action.
what?!?! are you saying that MAMBA doesn’t really exist?!!? there goes the $12.34 you were gonna get from me.
Damn that was gonna put me over on the dunebuggy, too.
Thanks for the video of the play, I missed the game.
And holy cow, Ben fouled the crap out of Shaq. How about that body contact before he got the hand on the ball?
If that’s the way they were officiating, did they call any fouls all game?
Pistons still found something to complain about I bet.
it was a clean block!! i hope the pistons will win tomorrow! i hate mourning his a cocky bastard, why does he hate prince so much? can he not pick some1 with his own size like ben wallace, he shove prince and started talking trash to prince and taunting but when sheed retaliated he was like oh what did i do, coward smuck, go pistons!
ben wallace sucks on defense and isnt one of the most dominant ever like shaq, so yes, kudos to him for the block but shaq still owns him whenever they face each other.
the 2004 pistons are fulke champions who took advantage of the shaq-kobe feud to win their ring. only one year later they were owned by san antonio and the lakers own san antonio.
any of the laker teams who won the ring would have spanked the pistons.
From pillar to post… Dorothy
whats wrong with both of these teams u ass holes what is it with every 1 hateing the pistons cause when they did have ben wallace which i think is one of the best centers in the NBA he fucken owns for some one 6′10ft if he was shaqs hight he would own every 1 but he allready does that dont u fuck hate ben wallace if u cant do the shit that he does
Stop hatin it was a clean block
Ben Wallace is a 4 time Defensive player, and a all time shot blocker.. i think he knew what he was doin. CLEAN BLOCK
DEEEEEEEEEEETROIT BAAAAAAAAAASKETBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL
