Click to big-bigWe were watching Around the Horn and PTI yesterday afternoon, and they both picked up this story from Lakerstalk.net that said Kobe Bryant was set to an advice column for the LA Times.
Of course, we immediately tracked down the story, read it, and wondered how they missed this part.
In other non basketball related news, Kobe will appear on “The Best Damn Sports Show Period” on June 9th, he’s already done an episode of “Dog the Bounty Hunter” which will air sometime in July and he’s on one of the final eight episodes of “The Sopranos” where he will play a basketball player who gets in debt to the mob. It seems to be some type of positive media blitz for the Bryant camp.
This was a joke- butcher
As if the Sopranos thing wasn’t enough of a tip-off, there’s a fairly large clue regarding authenticity at the end of the post there.
We can see how this happened – the advice column is actually a pretty believable pr-type move, although you know it’d be one of those watered down “The best thing you can do is save your money and work hard, lil’ Billy,” deals. No doubt someone in either the Bryant camp or the LA Times is thinking it over for reals now.
We have advice for both sides in terms of what to do. LA Times? Go hire an animal that will give bad and often hilarious advice to do a column. Kobe? Masquerade as an advice-giving animal and apply for that job at the LA Times.
