WHO SHOT MAMBA IPHONE

Darius Miles is pissed

JE Skeets 1.pngSince the big Marquis Daniels for Austin Croshere trade isn’t all that exciting, and the amazing Derek Fisher to Utah deal is equally bland, we’re all lucky that today is the beginning of the Toshiba Vegas Summer League.

There are all kinds of things to watch for over there, including Telfair taking hold of the Celtics for the first time (with a slighty more trim, slightly less injured Al Jefferson), the debut of the new Trailblazers rookies (which will pretty much be the actual Trailblazers next year), Ron Artest inexplicably playing for Sacramento, and new Cavaliers Daniel Gibson and Shannon Brown making their initial plays in the wine and gold.

Gibson has poached Darius Miles’s old number, which we always assumed the Cavaliers would retire. Disappointment abounds.

Most exciting, though? Renaldo and Isiah do it up NYC style for the Knicks squad! Not only that, but we have a reader who graciously came to us and said “Hey – I’m gonna be there. Can I use the world famous, highly respected YAYsports! name to get access?”

Of course, we said yes, provided no jokes are made to anyone without prior clearance. Doug calls his initial shot in the following email.

Brian,

So I’ll be there for the first Isiah coached game on Friday. I’ll send you some picks in the late afternoon. I’ll try to get at least one high quality picture. Something like Ferry picking his nose, Sasha sleeping on the bench, or Zeke grinning at a bar of soap. Something good.

We’ll expect all that and more, Doug. Thanks for your help, and it’s nice to see you very naturally fall into the attitude of “trying to get something good”, which is what we go for.

You know, as opposed to “great” or “amazing” or even “really good”. Just enough to get by. Nice and easy.

UPDATE: Since we screwed it up last time, here’s the NBATV schedule.

“What was so interesting about the big picture of Yao?”

I think he’s the tallest, saddest man to ever hold a basketball.

7 Todd Lerner July 6, 2006 at 12:23 pm

No, that would be Shawn Bradley.

Either that or Manute Bol. Depends on how we’re working the tall:sad ratio.
