Fringe Sports Central is doing a gradual (VERY gradual, almost glacial) review of the summer leagues, starting with the Vegas League. There's a surprising amount of talent there... and also a surprising number of guys who shouldn't have been given tickets, never mind playing time (Rodney Billups, I'm looking in your direction). Renaldo Balkman didn't look too good -- on more than a few plays he didn't even make it back over the halfcourt line before the Cavs had gotten a shot up (and these weren't really fastbreaks). For some reason David Lee was acting like it was the NBA Finals and kept flexing to the crowd every time he made a layup. As for the Cavs, they didn't really play anyone I had heard of but it did seem like Shannon Brown had a lot of trouble just dribbling the ball up the court.
