Brazil is scary

Denver Nuggets coach George Karl is a man of many dreams – some of those are good; others are bad.

We have no idea what the good ones are about – likely something happy like orphans eating birthday cakes that were made by and for other orphans. (We had to be allowed to use that line somewhere today.)

Anyway, one of George’s bad dreams is his star player (aka YAY fave Carmelo Anthony) getting hurt in international competition. Since that happened while he was awake today, it wasn’t technically a dream, although it was still bad.

“The injury doesn’t look like it’s serious,” Krzyzewski said.

Yeah, a broken leg doesn’t look serious unless it’s sticking out, either. In fact, all you people are always spouting cliches like “serious as a heart attack”, when a heart attack honestly doesn’t look all that serious, especially when you discount the gasps for air, numbness, blue-face, and other serious signs. (Blue-face might be choking – we’re not sure.)

By the way, this injury came during a 4-point win over Brazil, which ain’t all that sweet after routs of China and “team they played before China”. Cleveland Cavalier Anderson Varejeo apparently dominated things in the third, although we didn’t see the game itself, because the world ESPN2 is conspiring against you…conspiring against us.

Look – there’s conspiracies going on – that’s all we know. We’re also very tired, and that freaking Inflatable Defender wants to go another round Thursday.
