WHO SHOT MAMBA IPHONE

The NBA is changing the rules

by The Cavalier on August 3, 2006 · 6 comments

While anxiously awaiting tonight’s televised exhibition between Team USA and another country, we’d like to take a moment to note that they’re finally doing the next Die Hard movie for real.

It’s out next June, which should give the world ample time to recover from the Who Shot Mamba? experience.

In actual professional basketball news, the NBA is officially changing the playoff seeding system, which is one of those things everyone knew had to happen last year, before the playoffs even began.

“Our owners are intent on making the playoff seeding more fair for all teams going forward and in quickening the pace of the end of games,” NBA executive vice president Stu Jackson said in a statement. “The board also thought it made sense to allow teams to utilize the same 15-man roster in the playoffs that they use during the regular season.”

Basically, the big change is that the teams with the best records get the best seeds, which allows common sense logic to rule the day once again.

The other stuff Stu’s talking about there is an expansion of the playoff rosters to 15, as opposed to whatever it was this past year. We pleade ignorance (again), while simultaneously weeping with joy that the Cavaliers will be capable of unveiling their secret Luke Jacksonesque weapon next May JUNE – that weapon being Luke Jackson himself.

Other than that, not much going on today, other than Devean George going all Mav on your ass and doubtful to happen Bonzi Wells-to-DEN rumors.

Personally, we think Bonzi, Al Harrington, and Drew Gooden should start their own 21 league. They could just go around playing exhibition games of 21 at NBA halftimes for all the teams that don’t want to shell out “Nene money” for them.

(No idea what the Yao thing is about. It’s summer, okay?)

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…. “Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert, whose Quicken Loans mortgage loan company sponsors Detroit’s games at the Palace, has been remodeling the Cavaliers in the Pistons’ image.”.

They just replaced the Cavs 15-year TV guy Micheal Rehgi (sp) with the DET guy. I think that sucks, for the record.

Michael Reghi used to call play by play for the Baltimore Orioles here in the DC area. Believe me, he’s not worth crying over.

SEE….YOU….LATER!

A Die Hard 4? Guess that renders my Die Hard Trilogy box set worthless. What’s next, another Indiana Jones?

On another note, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Reghi over the years. He was way too over top the when the team was terrible. However, I’ve grown to like exuberence and catch lines the last couple of years. I’ll miss him.

BOOK IT!

Not sure if that was a joke or what but there is going to be another Indiana Jones. I think they are already filming it or are in the process.

Okay, this 3min video is totally worth it about Die Hard. You’ll have a higher appreciation for the whole series and/or humorous punkrock music lyrics in general.

As for rule changes, it’d be nice if they added some Referring changes into the mix — like by android robots or something. Anything’s better than Benett Salvatore
